From "The Georgia legislature may have to act, whether it wants to or not", files: Lawsuit requests 'new statewide election' in Georgia presidential contest over voter fraud allegations

"The Secretary of State has orchestrated the worst excuse for an election in Georgia history. We are asking the Court to vacate the certification of the presidential election and to order a new statewide election for president. Alternatively, we are asking the Court to enjoin the certification and allow the Georgia legislature to reclaim its duty under the U.S. Constitution to appoint the presidential electors for the state."

So, NightHawkeye, do you think there are any legal grounds that might give this case a remote chance of having some sway in court despite all the previous court failures, or are you just posting news of yet another frivolous lawsuit?

I note that there is simply not enough time left to hold a new public vote, since the electors vote in nine days.

Considering the you-know-what the President has been dumping on Georgia Republicans, how well to you think that new election would go for Trump?

That's not how our elections work, there are no do-overs, no second elections. You have to bring it up to the electors, you know, the people who actually get to vote for the president.

That design seems flawed to you? Perhaps then we should do away with the electoral college.

This seems more a "PR" move for Trump's base than a serious legal strategy. There is no mechanism in the US Constitution for a second election. Beyond that, even if an activist court would ignore the Constitution and order a second vote, you have the issue of the hard dates for states to certify their electors and for the electors to vote -- both of which would occur prior to being able to have this second election. In essence, the lawsuit is asking that Georgia voters being disenfranchised in the Presidential election.

That is why I think it is a PR move -- Trump and his people will ignore the obvious Constitutional issues and instead state that this shows how Democrats are against free and fair elections; despite the fact that no issues have been proven by Trump's legal team, rather lots of allegations that have continually lost in courts (as this one will).

Beyond that, since they feel the first vote was so fraudulent (despite no evidence they've been able to establish in a courtroom), why would they suddenly be able to trust a revote?

If any American citizen believe this can be done , then Government should take away their citizenship , send them to a Civic Boot camp to teach US constitution and other democracy related laws.

Not a bad source for once.. It reports on another hopeless hapless lawsuit for the Trumpsters. How does the story end? From the article:

"
What about voter fraud?
Despite the Trump campaign's claims, Attorney General William Barr said this week that the Department of Justice has not uncovered credible evidence of voter fraud.

"To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election," Barr said.

The Georgia secretary of state's office also has clarified on multiple occasions they have neither seen evidence of voter fraud, WXIA noted."
