1 John 3:4 "Sin IS transgression of the Law"

Is also the same thing in many modern translations as
"Sin is lawlessness"

You can't have "sin" - "Lawlessness" at the end of time - if the Law that defines sin -- God's moral law -- is "abolished".

It means that many will not follow God's Torah.

That mankind will continually and progressively come to be more contrary to the character of God, more "me" oriented. Whereas love is "other" oriented.

When has mankind EVER followed Torah? It has always been a very small minority of people. I think therefore it is not talking about the 613 of the Hebraic covenant, but of basic morality expected of all mankind.

So far, morality seems to be holding steady, with some sins getting better and others getting worse as time goes by.

No wonder even the majority of pro-sunday scholarship as noted in the signature line below affirm this point about the moral law of God binding on ALL mankind both in OT and NT.
