  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello, invisible! :) :hug:

yes , I can still grow my hair long but the stick I get at work , they think I am an olde Hyppy , as if !!! :p

and yes my Dad always wanted me to have short hair , in fact he refused point blank to come to my wedding unless I had my haircut , so he didn't come ........ but now I am older I can see his view clearer. :holy:

I would prefer it if Joel had short hair , but it's impossible to enforce without the British Army answering my calls , and they are too busy at the moment "!!! ^_^

You are kidding, aren't you? :p :D Long hair's cool on lads and young Joel's hair looks really awesome. Our lads have long hair, though our eldest got dreadlocks, quite thick ones, which effectively shortened the length from waist length to about halfway down his back. Our second lad's hair is getting longer too.....his took much longer to grow long. It's down below his shoulder blades now. He just dyed it again.....it's golden now.....the colour it was when he was born. :D

warning , !!!! Controversial stuff ahead !!!!!! ^_^

well the way I see it is men ought to have short hair and women long hair , if you read 1 Corinthians it's in scripture , not in any legalistic sense , I mean we don't get a calander and a tape measure in 1 Cor , but I can see the point , same with womens head coverings ..... :wave:

I didn't mean old, though, cyg. :sorry: :D Just the total phrase, you know?

How come you let your hair grow long, sometimes, cyg? I never wear a head covering, but I do have long hair. But it was cos I felt like growing it rather than a response to those verses *says js honestly* :)

Two reasons JS ;

First off , I am not perfect JS , I do not take a sanctimonious legalistic spirit with Scriptural instructions , I view it like my Father talking and reasoning with me .......

secondly , on the practical side I don't get much time to go into town to see a Barber , in fact I have even used a mobile barber while waiting to get tipped at a delivery before now , and also how much do you reckon a haircut is here JS .... this cost me £10 and it was done in less than 5 mins :eek:

if I could I would get a haircut every Month , but it's just not very practical. :wave:

I hope I didn't worry you or upset you, cyg. I just meant do you sometimes grow your hair long sometimes cos you like it a bit longer rather than cropped short all the time? I'm very sorry if you felt I was meaning anything else. And what you wrote is how I view that and some other Scriptures too. My hubby has thick curly hair and he lets it grow, but never long. Just to his collar and then it's as if he gets fed up with it and he gets our girl to shave it all off completely. :) One time she gave him a mohawk and he said he was going to leave it like that but he didn't.

Sounds rather expensive, cygnus. Our youngest girl paid out $120 for a professional cut an stuff a little while ago. They did it well but she usually cuts her own hair and does a really excellent job of it, anyway. She's cut a few of her pals' hair too along the way and can do all that stuff with curling thingys and straighteners and stuff.

it's just a question of being open to what God wants JS , I think we all have a rebellious side , and it took me years to even consider these things , I think that is good , saves being pompous and all that melarki ;)

I had my hair crimped once , it looked a bit like Bob Marley's hair , I spent years with a Marc Bolan look , I always liked "corkscrew hair" ^_^ never had it permed , even though evryone said I must have done , I didn't need to. :)

speaking about hair , this vid , I already posted this link , has to be the finest hair style I have seen ever !!! a womans glory is her hair and this is superb colour and styling :)

I heard this song 'Time To Say Goodbye'. sung by Katherine on the only TV show I watch , Emmerdale , she was a special guest appearance to open and close a pagent in the show and the story line was tragic , and she sang this live on the set , it was shown last Thursday ... I was amazed at her voice ;;

Cool photo, cyg. :) Really good!

I must show this to our girl. She hasn't picked up a bass for some time, and certainly never a 6 string. The dude who taught her is coming over tomorrow to catch up with our kids so I hope he re-inspires her, so to speak. She plays bass fairly basically but with style and great rhythm. Lately she's been spending much more time on her acoustic guitar skills and has written several songs. She sings and plays acoustic guitar well, I think. One day.....:D as with Joel, and our lad.....and perhaps you too, cyg. :)

I'm usually pretty quick with things like that. I make my kids & hubby so mad when they can't get me with one of those type questions.
I'm going to blame it on not enough sleep, too early in the morning, no coffee, no breakfast...
