Latvian Lutheran Church to join the ILC

Latvian Lutherans vote to seek membership in the ILC - International Lutheran Council

This is bigger than it may seem as the Lutheran church in Latvia is the biggest religious group in that country and has 700’000 members. It will make the Latvian church one of the biggest member churches of the ILC and by far the biggest member church in Europe.

I am delighted by this news and hope this decision will help to strengthen the case of conservative Lutherans in Europe. In ILC member churches as well as in LWF churches.
