Fox News Poll results December 8-11, 2019

Some interesting take-aways:

Do you think President Trump should be impeached and removed from office, or not?
Yes 50%
No 46%
Don't know 5%
ETA - more voters want Donald removed than voted for him.

Do you think Congressional Democrats really think President Trump committed an impeachable offense or do they just want to hurt him politically?

Impeachable offense : 49%
Want to hurt him politically : 43%

Do you think Congressional Republicans really don’t think President Trump committed an impeachable offense or do they just want to protect him politically?
Not an impeachable offense : 36%
Want to protect him politically 52%

Do you think the Trump administration is being cooperative enough with the impeachment inquiry, or not?
Yes : 36%
No : 52%
(Don’t know) 12%

Doesn't look like the RNC talking points are playing very well outside the far-right base.

Would you say asking leaders of foreign countries to investigate domestic political rivals is something presidents typically do, or not?

Dem
Yes: 11%
No: 80%
Don't Know: 9%

Rep
Yes: 33%
No: 36%
Don't Know: 31%
Just appreciated how many republican respondents suddenly don't know when specifics of the impeachment charges are brought up.

Would you be more or less likely to vote for your congressional representative if he or she votes to impeach President Trump?
More likely : 38%
Less likely : 36%
(No difference) : 10%
(Don’t know) : 15%

The breakdown (3rd from last page) of this one was interesting. Even among GOP voters, only 68% would be less likely to vote for their rep if that rep voted to impeach. That's high, but no where near the 85% approval rating Donald has among them. Granted, this question isn't impeach and remove like the earlier one, but still, an interesting split.

"Far-right" is a term that implies a deviant group, as though they were not mainstream. This should represent a group more than two standard deviations, or, if we want to stretch the truth a little could be more than one standard deviation from the average. When 46% don't think he should be impeached and removed, and when we consider that roughly half of the country is Republican or Republican-leaning, that makes it in the ballpark of 92% of those on the right.

That is not, "far-right."

I don't see the connection between the number of people holding a view and their position on the political spectrum.

No, that's alt-right.

It's right there in the name -- "alt" being short for "alternative," although alternative to what these days, ah... there's the million dollar question... don't you think?

Is that the same Fox news poll that also showed Biden, Bernie, Warren, and Buttigieg all beating Trump? I was just reading about that one last night.

Yes, although some of those results were within the margin of error of the poll

3. Do you approve or disapprove of the job Congress is doing?
Approve Disapprove (Don’t know)
8-11 Dec 19 23% 62 15

Maybe should have made this thread about congress?

Maybe if you want to point out that is a fairly high result for Congress, which typically polls in the teens.
