Name: Larielle Kha’ladin

Age: 20

Race: human, half Sal Kadian, half Egaran

Gender: female

Appearance: long, thick, straight black hair, kept in a braid wrapped around her head; expressive dark brown eyes; slightly tan skin; 5’5”; 135 lbs.

Personality: though she’s reserved and generally thinks things through before doing them, she is stubborn and has her impetuous moments. She inherited her father’s keen mind, and easily memorizes; and she tends to be logical and pragmatic. She isn’t afraid of new things or confrontation, though she doesn’t usually seek them out, either, unless she feels it’s important. She’s an honest sort, and is a firm believer and worshipper of Elohim. Because of her background, she’s learned to be cautious in whom she trusts and confides, and is somewhat independent in nature.

Home: Kytah, Sal Kadedin

Family: Trevrid Kha’ladin – father, Sal Kadian spy
Soronna Ruldiya – mother, Egaran; deceased for 9 years
Trinimac – brother, 15
Rissdeyl – brother, 13

History: Larielle’s father was a spy, who met Soronna when he was returning from a campaign in Vareisia and was waylaid by a lion, losing his horse and injuring himself in the process of killing the lion. He passed out on the ground, and Soronna and her brother found him and took them to their camp, nursing him back to health. Though he was a Zantukite, and she a devoted servant of Elohim, they formed a bond, much to the disapproval of her family. Risking disownment and Elohim’s displeasure, Soronna eloped with Trevrid and left her beloved plains for Sal Kadedin. At first, she loved her new life, especially when she had her first child, Larielle; but slowly reality and disillusionment set in. She had thrown away her convictions and her family and home for a man who, though he did love her, was more devoted to his work and country and god than he was to her. Soronna poured what was left of her life into her daughter, and later her two sons, instilling in Larielle a belief in and knowledge of Elohim despite the rather hostile environment for such a belief. Trevrid was mostly gone, on his secret missions, so wasn’t aware of it too much. When Larielle was 11, however, her mother died of a strange disease, and Trevrid hired a Shardalonian governess for the three children. Larielle tried to help her young brothers understand the truth of Elohim and the falsity of the Zantukite religion, though it was difficult with their meddling governess always watching and ending any such talk.

Larielle hated life in Kytah after her mother’s death, and she dreamed of going to her mother’s homeland and finding her family there. When her brothers make the decision to follow in their father’s footsteps by joining the Zantukites, she figures it is time to act on her dream and go to the Plains of Egara; however, when she asks her father if such a thing would be possible, he is adamant about her not going, his reasons less than discernible. Nevertheless, she knows she can’t stay, so after Trevrid leaves for his next assignment, she runs away and, using the knowledge she has learned of geography and such, she makes her way out of Sal Kadedin, in and through Eyrel, all the way to the Calkei and Calkai Mountains….
