My experiences with shamans has focused on their positive intentions ...
That goes against the Bible.

Some, like the Crusaders, focused on warfare in spite of the Bible, not with respect to It.

That's been my experience as well.

The bible had it's share of dysfunctional heroes and warfare. Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel — was dysfunctional. Because of the parents' sin and sibling rivalry. The most prominent family in the Bible — Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc. — was mildly dysfunctional or worse.

Okay ... so I examine evolution by running it through my heuristics.

And lo and behold ...

2. Bible says x, Science says y = go with x

Bible says x:
  • earth before sun
  • light before sun
  • plants before marine organisms
  • fruit bearing trees before fish
  • birds before insects
  • plants before Sun
  • man before rain
  • whales before land animals
Science says Y:
  • just the opposite

So I examine evolution against what the Bible says and give evolution the old MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN and send it hiking.

Easy peasy.

Woah, hold on there, AV, you're making the same mistake again.

We are discussing evolution. So my question is, "How do you examine EVOLUTION to determine whether or not it is true."

You are NOT examining evolution here. You are dropping it and turning to the Bible. That's not following the rules.

So, how do we examine EVOLUTION to determine if it is true or not?

No argument there.

But like the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Witch Hunts, they did what they did in spite of what God wanted; not with respect to it.

We're all dysfunctional, aren't we?

The Bible exposes them as sinners as well; putting their sins right up in the storefront window for all to see.

If God could made us less dysfunctional he would not need to punish us so much.
But God didn't make us less dysfunctional.

What do you suppose happened between ...

Genesis 1:31 [And God saw Adam and Eve, and, behold, they were very good.]

... and ...

[There is none good. No, not Adam and Eve.]

Hint: The answer is found in Genesis 3.

@AV1611VET , please don't forget to reply to my question.

How do you examine EVOLUTION to determine whether or not it is true?

If you claim that you have already answered this question (which I asked in post 304), please tell me which post it was in.

By running it through my heuristics.

1. Biological evolution assumes baby steps.
2. If an animal can be traced to another animal in the past (ex., a bird to a dinosaur) then it gets the green light.
3. Just add deep time where necessary, gloss over missing links, and make changes as necessary to tweak your product.

You've made an error in step three.

You find an apple. Alongside it is a document (written by a person you trust completely, but whom you are unable to contact at the moment) that says that the apple was created ex nihilo. You subject the apple to testing, and all tests indicate that the apple was not created ex nihilo, but grew on a tree in the regular way that apples grow.

What is the most reasonable conclusion in this case?

  1. The apple was indeed created ex nihilo, despite what the testing indicates
  2. The apple grew on a tree, despite what the document indicates

You forgot to include the evidence for deep time and transitional species,
If you meant transitional genera, there ain't none.

And as far as transitional species, isn't a dog considered a transitional species between his sire and his offspring?

... and instead tried to treat them as though they were something that scientists invented.
Because they are something scientists invented.
