Kissing when not in a relationship - is it wrong/sin?

I'm curious Reminisce . What are your thoughts on the subject?
Do you feel it is sinful, or that it is an acceptable extension of mutual desire?

Interesting, psychological evaluations must be a bit of your specialty eh?

And you must be able to have people fall for you like a spoon full of sugar.

Me? I think it depends. If there's real feelings involved and real passion and desire, I think it can be defended. But then again, I'm too liberal for this forum.

I do not think you are too liberal for the forum - there are plenty who would say kissing in such situations is fine. Most who wish to save kissing for marriage do not do so out of Biblical obligation but a desire to save that first kiss for the whole "kiss the bride" moment. At least that's what i've gleaned from similar topics.

As in "this is the guy for me" type of feelings? But I agree, it can be hard to distinguish those in the heat of the moment.

I feel that way on the topic of sex too, that if (in a relationship), the feelings and passion are there, then people are free to do whatever they feel is right. That makes me controversial around here and too liberal for this forum.

I dunno if i'd call it sinful, but i'm not even going to kiss my wife until the day we get married, and I wouldn't want to kiss any other women

even though it may not be considered this by many people, I consider kissing to be a very intimate thing .. something that should only be shared with someone very special

If it is all so fine, then perhaps two women kissing is ok, and two men kissing is ok. Afterall, everyone is just friends and it isn't about sex..... right?

Everything in my history has taught me that kissing as friends means leading to something more. In an effort to curb this I just say that I'm not ready for that kind of relationship and so don't kiss. But then women get angry because they want the kissing and they feel it is time to do so and lead to more.

As I type this I'm realizing that I'm a pretty weird guy with a weird history. hmm. I don't know how I feel about that. Anyway, I get tired of people trying to get me into a relationship or sex or whatever else they want from me.

Now you see, I agree individuals should feel free to do whatever they feel is right. I also think that depending on their religious beliefs they should look to scripture and ask themselves whether their actions are compatible with how we are guided to live. Each will be measured against their own sins, so they must seek to understand the scriptural stance on what they are doing and be at peace with that.

The issue with such a stance is rarely that it is too liberal, but that there is a lack of scripture that can be brought up to support it. Yes, people are free to do what they wish, but if those people are Christian and as such bound to following the guidelines laid out within the Bible should they do whatever feels right if "right" contradicts scripture?

Why should your views be your downfall? They are your views. Even if they are in disagreement with the majority and seen to be clashing with the conventional view if they are expressed respectfully and without regret then there should be no downfall.

Downfalls come when people forget their manners.

Ahh so English is not your native then?

I was just wondering...because if you haven't been speaking English your whole life, I was wondering if that could be part of the reason you think people are talking directly towards you, and therefore part of the reason you think people are being rude to you...since English can be confusing sometimes (ie - with you singular versus you plural/general)

I'm gonna put forth my personal view on the OP:

IMO kissing in a relationship is fine. That's the world I was raised in. I was really surprised when I heard that there are people who don't kiss- or, at least, plan on not kissing- until marriage. While I like that idea, I don't think I could live up to it.

Outside of a relationship though, I am against it. I'm not interested in it, and I'm not interested in dating a girl who ever made a habit of kissing random people, such as at parties or in a club or whatever.

For me, if you are married or in a relationship, kissing someone else is cheating- so kissing random people while not in a relationship is similarly distasteful.
