    So far:

    Violation of federal election laws
Violation of Constitution on Domestic Emoluments
Violation of Constitution on Foreign Emoluments
    Incitement of Violence
    Interference With Voting Rights
Collusion Against the United States with a Foreign Government
Illegally Attempting to Influence an Election
Tax Fraud, Bank Fraud, and Public Misrepresentation

    ...are all being investigated.

As for what crime he committed, that depends on what he gets charged with -- and subsequently convicted of -- at his impeachment.

And that is true... this is an investigation to determine whether or not they have the evidence to actually file an article(s) of impeachment which again, to date, has not happened.

You have no idea what they already do or do not have. The impeachment inquiry is intended to uncover evidence of wrongdoing, that doesn’t mean they don’t already have plenty of evidence of wrongdoing. Mueller handed over substantial evidence of obstruction of justice by the president already.

Obstruction was also specifically called out by the people leading the investigation.

Both are true. Anyone who took a government class in high school knows the House of Representatives is not responsible for anything Chief Justice John Roberts does in the Senate.

Abuse of power is a "high crime" in the Constitution and that is exactly what Donald Trump did repeatedly in office. There also is proof he obstructed justice, another constitutional cause for impeachment, multiple times. Nobody is just throwing sour grapes here. What Trump did was obviously illegal.

Doing things you dislike is not abuse of power.
If that were true, Trump would already have been impeached.
That seems to be exactly what is happening.
If that were true then Trump would already have been impeached.

Instead, Democrats are still searching for a crime.

I wonder, if Trump does not get reelected if those who support or excuse Trump believe he will not be brought into court or that his life as a private citizen will not be frought with court action?

Obstructing justice is and we have proof of of it.
Republicans controlled the House when Donald Trump fired James Comey. In fact, they considered impeaching Trump and only abandoned the idea to save their own jobs.
How so? Democrats already have physical evidence and will get more soon.

It seems odd to me, in a threat about how the Democrats are railroading Trump, that you are trying to claim they just need to impeach Trump before investigating? No, it appears to many (maybe even most Americans) that the President acted inappropriately and there is evidence he broke the law. Obviously, the President, and many Republicans, dispute this.

So if a lot of blood is in your home and your wife can't be found, you think we should just arrest and indict your for murder because it appears you killed your wife? Or do you think the police should investigate first, to see if your wife is actually dead and, if she is, you are the one that committed the murder? Particularly when you deny any crime took place, that your wife is just visiting her sister that lives in another country?

It seems odd to me, and a bit desperate, that you (and some other Republicans) are saying that either the Democrats should impeach or drop it all together, that there should be no investigation.

That's actually a great analogy ... because in the instance you cite a crime is known to have been committed. The investigation is about who done it.

In contrast, the impeachment proceedings are still searching for a crime. They assume guilt and are simply looking for a crime, any crime they can then blame on Trump.

What crime is that? There's no delicious corpse or whatever.

Nobody is searching for a crime. They already found multiple crimes.

No, there is no obvious crime there; particularly if it is true your wife is with your sister and doing just fine -- that she even has plans to return. Maybe she had a kitchen accident before she left, that caused a lot of bleeding before she could get it stopped -- it wasn't even that much blood, just that between trying to clean it up (before it dried) while also trying to staunch the flow of the blood, she made the mess much larger, making it look like there was a lot of blood.

With Trump, we have allegations from a whistleblower report, that make it appear a crime has been committed. But apparently you think we should just act solely on the report, not verifying if the evidence in the report is valid or an overreaction -- and we should just impeach Trump because he was accused. Just like you seem to think we should convict you just because some of your wife's blood was found in your kitchen.

We don't even know that it was NHE's wife's blood. Might want to investigate that before prosecuting.

Yes, I thought about mentioning it possibly being from a bloody roast she had prepared a few nights prior to leaving.

It is just right-wing propaganda designed to give their followers a rationalization for continuing to believe despite all the facts. Don't think too hard about it - it wasn't designed to stand up to scrutiny by anyone who isn't already predisposed to believe.

Ahh ... thanks for the additional details. It seems like you're making my case though. Since there's no body and no missing person report (I didn't file one), there's nothing to investigate.

I know my wife is at my sister's house, so why is anyone accusing me of anything, much less investigating?
We can ignore the whistleblower, even Adam Schiff says as much. We have a transcript ... and there is no crime.

So again, why is there an investigation. There is no crime.

Mostly because the sworn testimony from Donald's employees disagrees with your guess on this subject. I mean, I can understand why someone would find the current administration less than trustworthy, but in this case their testimony is consistent with each other and with the facts.

If only that were factually correct.

    It's not.
