CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Welcome to the forums! I myself have a partial background in the UMC, although I am no longer affiliated with that church due to the theological direction it has been moved into in recent decades.
There are some really interesting independent Methodist churches, my favorite being the Epworth Chapel on the Green in Boise, Idaho, which has a liturgical worship program closely resembling that of John Wesley.

That is why I left the church. They did not even believe Wesley taught what he did.
For example: Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.

Hey Michael, how are you doing? Were you able to find another Methodist parish?
One that I particularly like that is not part of the Global Methodist Church but predates it, which is somewhat independent, is the Epworth Chapel on the Green in Boise, Idaho, which recently affiliated but did not formally join the Free Methodist Church.
