Who is the left?
Well, I'm Dutch, and the Dutch more or less invented liberalism, so Soldier of the Cross probably means me.

As for the left's view of McCain, if I may be so bold as to speak for "the left", we may have disagreed with him on policy matters (and his choice of Sarah Palin as his VP pick, which was an absolute disaster), but that did not lessen our respect for him one iota as a US hero and a man of integrity, character and honesty. Sure, the left may have had some issues with some of the things he would have have done leading the country as POTUS, but there was never any fear that he was going to damage or destroy our democracy and/or our standing on the world stage.

You still haven't addressed the issue. Why does it take backbone for Cindy McCain to side against Trump? She has no position to lose nor does her husband now gone. Mainstream media will herald her as honourable for taking the position she has. So what scary scenario did she face that took great courage to side in with Biden?
I addressed the issue of there being no Senior Republican with the backbone to say “No, Mr President, you cannot do this!”
Whatever Cindy McCain says does enter into my answer at all. Forgive me for not conforming to your premise but I don’t give a squat about it.

Sorry but I'm going to have to blow your mind now. I'm further to the left than probably any of the American posters here. To me people like Bernie Sanders and AOC are basically slightly left leaning centrists. Hearing Americans talk about the Democrats being socialist literally makes me laugh until I choke.
Wish I could up vote this 100 times.

What's a squat trading for on the market today?

When the country elected Trump they knew they were voting for someone who would not except the status quo how things have been done internationally. They knew as well other world leaders probably wouldn't be his greatest fan....Didn't matter though....The People albeit through the electoral college wanted change.

Oh yeah, the “rope-a-dope foreign policy”, (always leave both allies and adversaries guessing as to your next move); brilliant if you don’t intend to honor agreements that we fought for.

Well, they certainly got their wish (and the rest of the world is laughing at the spectacle).

Cindy McCain has joined the Biden transition team.

The news came a week after McCain endorsed Biden, calling the former vice president a “good and honest man.”

Other members of the unpaid advisory board include New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D), former Sen. Ted Kaufman (D-Del.), Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.), former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D). McCain is the second Republican to join the advisory board, after Bob McDonald, who served as secretary of Veterans Affairs during the Obama Administration.
