Job 35
9 ¶ By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

There are a number of things to discuss in this passage.

1) What is this passage saying?
2) Why does no one say "where is God my maker?"
a)What would happen if they did?
b)What would happen, if you did that today?
c)What contemporary issues would this apply to?
3) What are the songs of the night?
a) if you have some insight into this, how does this help in worshiping God?
4) Who teaches us?
a) Who teaches you?
b) Who teaches Christians?
c) Who teaches Non-Christians?
d) What is taught?
e) What do you do with what you are taught?
5)Who is crying in verse 12?
a) Why are they crying?
6) When verse 13 says God will not hear vanity, who is God not listening to in context of the passage?

In general, what personal application do you take away from this passage?

This is the condemnation of Elihu of Job, the guy has some kind of a misconception:

Your wickedness only affects humans like yourself,
and your righteousness only other people. (Job 35:8)

He has a weak concept of accountability and bear in mind, latter God will tell him you have not spoken rightly about me like my man Job.

Grace and peace,
Mark

So when applying 2 Timothy 3:16, the person speaking in the scripture influences how the verse is to applied.

What is the correct concept of accountability, and where is this illustrated in the scripture?

These people are crying out for help, but no one is asking God for help. 9b They cry for help because of the [violent] arm of the mighty.
10
“But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker,.
and if they do cry to him they don't have the faith that he will help. “Surely God will not listen to an empty cry [which lacks trust],
Nor will the Almighty regard it.
In the New Testament a lot of time when Jesus heals people he says your faith has made you well. They don't get healed just because they want to be healed. They get healed because they will know the reason why they got healed. They know that God did it, and God will get the glory for it. Also this is a conversation between Job and Elihu. Elihu is trying to come up with reasons why Job's prayers aren't getting answered (none of these are true of Job). Some of the reasons are that he is praying in pride v12, and Job doesn't have the faith/trust v13. These are reasons why prayers aren't answered, however its not the reason why Job's prayer was not answered.
