"Why does the President support abortion where his own Catholic faith teaches abortion is morally wrong?"

We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

This has been addressed many times by the president himself. The questioner didn't want an answer.

We have seen where theocracy can lead with the Taliban.

My own personal dilemma is that the "pro-life" politicians are against abortion but are unconcerned about all other social justice issues, which, if addressed, would reduce abortions more than their punitive approach.

Texas allows birth control pills, vasectomies and the morning after rape pill. People should not do sexual immorality anyway.

That's my own personal dilemma as well, for the most part. I consider myself pro-life and I am against many, if not most, "elective" abortions, although I am also pro-choice and believe there should a lot of choice given to pregnant women about abortion. This is mainly due to health reasons, which are numerous, even if a woman isn't likely to die from the pregnancy.

To me, it falls into a range that is very grey, much like terminating the life of a sick and incapacitated (often elderly) relative, such as making a decision to "pull the plug". We don't ban that but it's effectively a form of euthanasia, but there are actually good reasons for it and there are sometimes very good reasons for abortions.

The following is very fitting right here.

There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.

Pro-abortionists say this kind of thing so often, it was entirely predictable that someone would respond as you have. The simple fact is that conservatives generally believe in personal responsibility and self sufficiency. That includes not taking the risk of falling pregnant if you do not have the means to take care of a child, or do not have the desire to have a child. And it's unfortunate that I have to point this out, but your response is a red-herring, intended to distract from the fact that some people support killing the unborn.

P.S. I'm not interested in debating extreme examples, such as pregnancy caused by rape. That's an entirely different ball game from allowing abortion on demand to all and sundry.

I live in a state where 47% of workers earn less than $15 an hour.

Our legislature which believes in self-sufficiency pushed back hard on a referendum to increase minimum wage to $11 an hour by granting exemptions to small businesses, non profits, etc.

You can't have it both ways. You can't expect people to be self sufficient when you have a knee on their necks.

And they have tried to repeal the affordable care act in the courts. They'll allow vasectomy as long as they are unaffordable.

LOL, that is RICH! The simple fact is that conservatives design socialist funnels to siphon off wealth from the liberals who produce it into their own unproductive pockets. Another simple fact is that conservatives do nothing but complain about various groups of peopke - minorities, gays, "illegals", now pro-choice people, democrats in general, Biden, Harris, women, socialists, doctors, science - everyone and everything else is to blame for all their problems in life, no personal responsibility or ownership is taken by any of them.

And after rigging their own welfare and then blaming everyone and everything for every one of their problems they have the gall to say that they are "for personal responsbility". What a joke.

Of course you and other conservatives are not interested in debating what you call "extreme examples" because then your absolute prohibition of abortions falls apart and people see the irrationality and lack of humanity of it. We get it, you rape victims should also raise their rapists' children for them. Women who risk health problems should just hope they live through the pregnancy and if they don't then oh well...

It's amazing to me the kinds of wild things that come from conservatives.

The real story ....... If a woman wants an abortion she WILL find someone to do it. This is about saving womens lives which I fear has been lost in this whole conversation. I am against abortion because 40 years ago I had one and I still regret having one, yet, I am also against a woman forced into a back alley procedure or even attempt it herself. There is blood on the hands either way.

This thread took a convenient ( for some) turn from abortion to economics. Biden is Catholic. He’s pro choice. That’s bad. Period. Anything else you want to throw into the argument is irrelevant.

Joe Biden is probably the most religiously observant president we've had since Jimmy Carter (a living saint.) He goes to Mass several times a week, is compassionate and kind, carries rosaries in his pocket and prays before making decisions, and says "God love ya'" as naturally and easily as Trump says "Loser!"

Can you name a single person in public office who agrees with every single thing his church promotes? Even harder, how many have characters you want to emulate?

How many unborn lives will be saved by Joe Biden's committment to eliminate poverty for 50% of all American children--which began with increased child tax credits last month?

Not only that, those unborn lives Joe Biden's program saves--unlike the unborn lives saved by conservative "pro-lifers"--will not suffer hunger or poverty or lack of medical care.

I sure would rather be an unborn baby saved by Joe Biden's policies than an unborn baby who'd be living a life of deprivation and suffering.

Catholic Bishops Vote To Ban Biden From Receiving Communion Over His Support For Abortion Rights

On Friday, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops voted to pass a new guideline that could ban President Joe Biden from receiving communion due to his position in support of abortion rights for women.

The new guideline says that Catholics who disagree with the church’s position on abortion should not receive holy communion.
Not sure how observant he can be when his own church publically rejects him for not observing elements of the religion.

That's not known to be the case. He most likely wouldn't have asked the question if Biden himself were not given to playacting like he's a deeply religious and faithful Catholic. No, the question almost certainly wouldn't have been asked under normal circumstances. After all, many Democrats in Congress are Catholics and nevertheless vote for abortion "rights," and they are seldom put in the spotlight because of the hypocrisy of their doings.

There's a big difference between 'abortion on demand' or 'abortion as a method of birth control'--which account for a huge number of abortion annually...and trying to make life so comfortable that maybe the would-be mothers would decide against having the abortion.

For one thing, abortion is not just for the poor. And for another, abortion is not the only way to address having a child that the family cannot afford. Adoption agencies are more than willing to respond if called upon.
