Hanukkah was always treated as a minor holiday in Judaism.

It's importance became front and center as society in order to
appease guilt feelings for the celebration of Christmas, brought
Hanukkah forward. Jews celebrate it, but it's not a major holiday
like Passover.

Then of course, Kwanza was invented by a convict for non-christian
blacks to celebrate. However, there was another agenda when it
was invented and placed in the Christmas season. It seems
to be fading lately and not much is mentioned about it by the
media.

The actual message of H is to be cultural resisters. A good message for our time.

When it intersected with Thanksgiving in 2013, the joke name was Thanksgivukkah. The next time this will occur is in in 70,000 years. So you missed it. :p

Well, it's still Christmas and Hanukkah on the 26... so technically... :mmh:
Technically, Christmas is on December 25. The Christmas Season, last through to the Epiphany for Catholics.
Kwanza, a made-up holiday, begins December 26 and last till January 1.

I spoke with people from Kenya, and the celebration was never heard of in Africa according to them.

I'm gonna say you're right. I never heard of it and it has died as it never caught on. I think most folks love the Christmas season of love more than whatever that was.

As I posted before, friends from Kenya never heard of an African Harvest Festival in any part of Africa. They
said it was a made up holiday event here in America.

In my opinion, it was formed to debunk the white man's Christmas. There is no harvest in late December early January.

I never ran into Kwanzaa when I was in West Africa. I only heard of it after returning home.

I think it's a made up anti-Christmas actually.
