The thing that “ain’t right” is the clear double standard it reveals...

Sorry, I was just playing CNN reporter for a second and paraphrasing. :)

What he actually said was: "I also think it gave some people the false impression that I was admitting to doing things that in fact I haven't done. Some of the allegations against me are simply not true. Others I remember very differently."

Did he deny them all...? Did he not also apologise and express shame for many of them as well...?

I know, it stings...it makes you very uncomfortable that, on one side you have a person prepared to exhibit at least some decency and to atone for their behaviour....while cowards on the other side think only of their political hides...

I'm not defending anybody. I'm simply pointing out what a child is. Seriously. Words have meaning. It's a pet peeve of mine.

Maybe. Think I'll let it play out and see what time reveals.

No, they don’t. Words have no inherent meaning. We derive meaning from the context in which they are used. So when “Child” was used, it was appropriate. The message being expressed was clear...this disgusting man had a habit of preying upon girls who were not yet adult and who were very vulnerable...

Opinions vary. And it is an important distinction when discussing things like pedophilia. There is a HUGE difference between attracted to pre-pubescent girls and post puberty women, regardless of their chronological age.

One is a mental disorder, the other is just "dirty old man". And the latter is a cultural construct. The former is biological.

Perhaps his plan is to wait and see if Judge Moore is thrown out, assuming that he is elected next Tuesday, before he is willing to depart for greener pastures. If the Senate fails to evict Roy Moore, then Al might just rescind his resignation and remain in office.

...and failure to make that distinction only serves to trivialize pedophilia.
