Israeli Rabbis ask permission to perform Passover animal sacrifice

Israeli rabbis wrote a letter to the current prime minister requesting permission to slaughter an animal on Passover this year.

IIRC the only place for Jews to offer a sacrifice is on the actual Temple's altar so I am not sure what they would expect to accomplish with this.......
