Israeli forces on Tuesday, November 19 ordered the demolition of rooms, bathrooms, and seats in the Palestinian town of Burqa. The Christian humanitarian organization World Vision had donated the structures for a park project in its charity work in the impoverished region. Although Palestinians operate some of their own territory, the Israeli military has controlled it for the last 45 years.

The story can be found on Mondoweiss, noting a United Nations report that:
Israel has destroyed more than 558 Palestinian properties in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since the beginning of this year, displacing 919 people...
Israel issues demolition orders for structures built by child-welfare group World Vision | Mondoweiss

What do you think about the story and the vast destruction by the occupying military?

Is it wrong of me to think that Israel should know to treat people groups better, considering what has happened to the Jews in the past?

I like to think Israel is a decent country, but it does do some pretty bad stuff (with US veto aid) to Palestinian people.

When will they ever learn? Palestine belongs to Israel and has to suffer whatever indignities Israel decides they have to.
It might go a bit like this: "Those will never learn. I don't know the actual 'reason' why hundreds of houses are being destroyed, but the people moving in have every right to have houses there instead."

I think its about good farm land and water. Israel over the years has taken that land away from the Palestinians bit by bit. I don't know why they do that, but that they do.

I sincerely hope that this is sarcastic. Like, literally, I think that there's a chance it could be, and if so, it's a good comment. If not...this sounds like a combination of Thucydides and sadism.

Where is the compassion?
We know that terrorism goes on both sides in that region. Israel should be ashamed of this.

The "rules" don't apply to Israel, according to it's supporters. Everyone knows that Israel has nukes, but which country are we ready bomb for not following the rules? Not Israel.
Right. When it comes to Isr. nukes, it's "No rules need apply."

They would say it's OK when the Isr. state breaks the rules because they are the good guy. They won't admit however that their state was actually the aggressor in 1948 and 1967. In 1948 the State conquered land past what they were allowed by the UN rules, including land that was supposed to belong to "the Arabs" and it was only then that the "the Arab" neighbors attacked.

Likewise in 1967 it was supposedly a preemptive attack. But in fact the two sides had been building up forces and the Egyptians really did not have much chance.

The point is that the state's supporters may say it has nukes for defense, but actually its wars are not always defensive ones.

I think this would explain a few things because World Vision and Israel seem to have some falling out with each other.

Do you guys really expect Israel to answer for this? Conservative Christians, who are in love with all things Israel, will sweep this aside and justify it somehow. The tragedy is that Palestinians period are being persecuted, uprooted from their homes, and subsequently their homes destroyed and rebuilt for Jews. It's a genocidal front, supported by Christians and Western governments(particularly the US government). The Palestinians who fight back are called terrorists, and the Israelis are perceived as victims.

World Vision’s anti-Israel bias « Israel.co.nz | A response to "Christian" anti-Zionism, replacement theology, and media bias.

I think this would explain a few things because World Vision and Israel seem to have some falling out with each other.
In the article you linked to, a person attended a presentation by World Vision that (1) showed the movie With God on Our Side, which criticized the Israeli government for the conditions of Palestinians living subject to Israeli military power.

In the article, World Vision adds that they (2) direct their help to Palestinian civilians because that is where the greatest need is, while Israel is a prosperous country. Factually this en while this true. The Israeli military rations food that can enter Gaza based on calculations of the minimum they need to survive, while the Israeli economy is growing at a fast rate and receiving billions in US Aid.

What might those two ideas in the article explain about Israeli treatment of World Vision's charity project?

If the Israeli army has demolished hundreds of Palestinian homes and displaced almost a thousand people this year, might World Vision be correct in criticizing their army? If so, what do you think about the fact that the Israeli army has now decided to demolish World Vision's structures too?

Or people simplify things because often times it has been shown that the full truth has not been fully reported. In Europe they falsely once said a boy and father caught up in the conflict was killed but years later it was found out that they were still alive. Sorry, but its not so black and white as a lot of Pro-Palestianians make it out to be. Also genocide is overblowing it. There is some justified beef with Palestine.

You are right that things are not black and white. many conflicts are not black and white, the American conquest of the Indians being one example.

However, it is a fact that the Israeli side has been the victor and there have been instances of genocide of the conquered, one of the most famous cases being the killing of 107 Palestinians in the village of Deir Yassin, after which the village itself was destroyed- along with hundreds of other conquered villages.

Douglas Anthony Cooper: Part 3: A Matter of Lies and Death

From Cooper here is some focus on a lot of things going on here. The definition here is still not genocide.
