Well. How should we deal with murderers rapists child molestors and the rest?

Kill them? Or send them to prison?

The Jewish law killed them upon conviction. Not to mention offenders of what one such as myself would consider far lesser crimes, they had no need for prisons.

I often wonder what Jesus would have said if a child molestor caught in the very act had been drug before him much as the adulteress was. The one where he told her to go and sin no more.

What would Jesus have said to the the child molestor? What if it was a murderer instead of an adulteress?

There was really no need for prisons if one committed murder they would be judged and sentenced all other crimes were solved by restoration, stoning, or slavery.

IsraEL's slave's were treated According to the LAW of YAH.
Not like the Slaves you might be thinking of.

An interesting Verse on stoning is Ex 19:12-13

Also numbers 15:30 –38

But really there are only a few stoning’s recorded in scripture.

((What if it was a murderer instead of an adulteress?))

Really we do not find YAHSHUA giving anybody a punishment for a crime.
So I'm not sure it matter's what crime it was.
If you have broken one LAW you have Broken them all.

Well yeah, thats true, but...

Was the penalty for wearing wool mixed with other fabrics death?

So yeah, same God, same law.

But I see different levels of justice in that law from the same God. Indicating to me, that God does understand that child molestation is far graver than for example the wearing of wool mixed with linen.

So to me, my question is still a mystery.

Look what christ did when he found a woman guilty of adultry. Only God can change a person's heart. Prison cannot do anything but restrain a person. I am against Israel's policy just giving some insight.

A death for a death.
An eye for an eye?
how does that make things right again?

so you apparently follow only SOME of the rules of the OT... which means you pick and choose the ones that apply today?? That doesn't seem to make sense.. from what you told me before Jesus didn't abolish the law at all.. so if that is the case... then shouldn't you follow EVERY OT law??

#1) Those laws pertained to the land of Israel. We are in the land of the Goy.

#2) A Beit Din made the decisions of guilt. Do you have a Beit Din?

Yafet,

What are the differences between the land of the goy, and the land of Israel for Gods people?

I have no idea what a beit din is. I am awaiting teaching in a great many areas.

Not the least of which is the place of the righteous goy. I believe that is a subject you said you would address one day.

I'm still looking forward to it. You've seemed to hint at your view on the matter throughout certain threads, including this one.

I would like to know your full opinion on Gods *other* people one day.

Yes I keep some of the Old Testament rules as you have put it.
I Try to do what I understand , and what I see applies to me.

Qustion : I am a Man ,Why would I keep a comand from YAH that applies to a woman?
If I own on property why would I keep Laws that apply to property owners?
If I own no slaves why would I keep laws that apply to slave owners?
If I am not a Judge Why would I keep laws that apply to Judges?
If I am not a king why would I apply laws that apply to kings?
If I am not a milatary man Why would I apply laws that apply to military people?
If I am not a priest why whould I keep Laws that pertain to Priestly duties?

Do you see what I'm saying here?
It is good to study all of YAH's LAWS,
because one day you might need to know the right thing to do.
Also it is good to teach your children the whole Torah,
Because they may become a priest, land owner,judge....

But there are a lot of Laws that I see that do apply to me.
I can not tell you what applies to you that is between you and
FATHER YAH. Do what you understand is right.
Something are easer to understand then others.

Shalom Kelsay,

Sabian has upon my point exactly. Some of the laws were specified, "When you enter the land the L-rd your G-d has given you"

or specifically, certain laws apply to within Israel.

For example, I am a man, and the laws that apply to women I do not follow. I am not a priest, therefore the laws that concern the cohanim (priests) I do not follow. In the same context, we are not expected to maintain the laws that were meant for within Israel's borders.

Beit Din? This is the governing body placed in charge of interpreting the laws for a community. G-d said that their words would be binding. Beit Din is literally a House of law. We can see this being exercised in Acts 15, among many other places in the Tenach. There are many laws that are given that a Beit Din must govern under.

The rules a Beit Din lay out are called: Halacha
Halacah is 'oral law'.

An example of a beit din in operation would be:
On sabbath we are to do no work. What is considered work? Is going for a moutain hike work? Is clocking in at your job to get paid work? Is cooking dinner work? Is going for a short walk work?

G-d set up the Beit Din to interpret the Torah for the people.

I hope this helps.

Shalom,
Yafet.

((( I see you understood some of what I said . But IsraELites did not stop keeping the Sabbath and other Laws of FATHER YAH just because they walked outside the borders of IsraEL.)))
The Laws of YAH are a way of life.
Example the sabbath was kept in many places outside Israel.
Border have nothing to do with it. Eather you are part of spiritual IsraEL ,
of you are not . I do not think It matters where you are standing on earth.

It like this People say we should flee babylon run to the wilderness.
Well the way I see it you can run, fly, drive,or sail out of babylon.
But if the ways of babylon remain in your heart .
you will never even leave the gates.
Have FAITH that the WAYs of YAH are correct.
And the ways of babylon are wrong.
Have FAITH that the lessons TORAH is a good way to live.
The more you understand and apply the more you will prosper.)))

I certainly hope you are not referring to replacement theology. However, when I mentioned Israel I was speaking of the land.... not the people. When in the land of Israel there are certain laws that apply specifically there... just as there are certain laws that apply specifically within the Temple.

Shalom,
-Yafet.
