Its sad. Forgive me but there is much we dont actually understand, maybe there is a ray of hope for these lost souls.

Only while they yet live in breathe in this present life do they have an opportunity to repent. If they refuse to do so now, they never will. This life is only temporary. Eternity is forever. They who submit themselves to Christ now will spend eternity with Him. Those who do not, will spend eternity away from Him. That much the scripture makes clear.

That in and of itself ought to place such an urgency in us and a drive to preach the Gospel to as many as we can for the torments of eternal judgment that those lost souls will face without Christ are far worse than any persecution that we will face for boldly proclaiming the truth of our Lord so that those who hear may be moved to repentance.

The "no second chance" group must provide answer to these three scriptures:

    Romans 14:11
for it hath been written, 'I live! saith the Lord -- to Me bow shall every knee, and every tongue shall confess to God YLT

First Corinthians 3:11-15, especially verse 15
11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. NIV

    First Corinthians 15:28
When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all. ESV

I recall the story of the rich man who had died, and he was asking to go back to warn his brothers. Why could Jesus not preach the Gospel to people while he was there?

    Revelation 1:18.
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

No you are not overstepping any boundary!
Who dares put any boundaries on what God can do?
God Himself has SWORN...that means He has promised. He has sworn to save all people.

sa 45:22 "Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
Isa 45:23 I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath.
Isa 45:24 He shall say, 'Surely in the LORD I have righteousness and strength. To Him men shall come, And all shall be ashamed Who are incensed against Him.
Isa 45:25 In the LORD all the descendants of Israel Shall be justified, and shall glory.' "

Of course Paul quoted Isaiah in Philippians 2:10.

And Jesus said He would DRAW ALL to Himself...in John 12:32

If comeone confesses with their tongue --saying in an oath that in Jesus they have righteousnesss and strength as Isaiah 45 and Philippians 2 tell us that they will say this...then they are born again and saved.

    When will this occur?

Paul tells us in 1 Cor 15.

1Co 15:20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
1Co 15:21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming.
1Co 15:24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
1Co 15:27 For "HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS UNDER HIS FEET." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted.
1Co 15:28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

Each will be saved---confess Christ--in their own rank or order as Paul says in 15:23. We are already saved....we are in the first group - those who are Christ's at His coming....then all the rest will eventually call on Jesus in the resurrection age to come...they are those who are in the group indicated by 15:25--the enemies which need to be be subdued under Jesus.

Paul said that in the ages to come God will continue declaring, preaching and announcing the Gospel of Grace in Jesus.

Eph 2:6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

In the ages to come!! He might show!!
    The word "show" means:
    1) to point out
1a) to show, demonstrate, prove, whether by arguments or by acts
    2) to manifest, display, put forth

In those ages to come God will continue demonstrating that Jesus is the way the truth and the life....to whom?
To all those who still make themselves enemies of His.

And in Eph 2:7 Paul says "in the AGES" to come....The word Ages is from the Greek- AION. Used 129 times...

The word "aion" means simply "an age of time"....but the King James and most all other translations have rendered it to mean forever in other verses.

They are confuse and they confuse the rest of us!! They have hidden the truth from us for about 1500 years.

The punishment or correction for the enemies of God is not FOREVER...but is for an age of time.
And God's correction is from a loving Father which always has the best interests of the one being corrected in mind. It is to bring that one to repentance and faith in Jesus.
    See Hebrews 12
Our God Himself is a consuming fire!
And all of us were his enemies...His fire, His love consumed all our sins through the blood of His LOVE(Jesus). And the way is now open for all to come to Him. But we resist.
Yet God is patient, and strong. The fish cannot escape the drawing of the Father...as He draws all men to Jesus...by inward impelling and by outward circumstances.

I am not ashamed of the good news. I stopped preaching the bad news when God showed me these things on my 50th birthday. I am not ashamed of my Father....but before..when I believed the eternal punishment, in hell forever nonsense...I was ashamed inwardly....and depressed!! Not any more!!

    The angel told them...

Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

The birth of Jesus as LORD, SAVIOUR, MESSIAH, CHRIST, WILL BECOME GOOD NEWS OF GREAT JOY to ALL THE PEOPLE!!!!!

Read that and let it sink in past your Nicene theology!

I couldn't find a biblical evidence of this, but...I wish that that were the case when I think about my unsaved friends. The thought is very difficult to cope with. :(

No, there is no second chance. We are saved by grace through FAITH. Yes everyone, to include the unbelievers, will bend the knee and confess Jesus as Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). But after you see the risen Christ in His full glory, there is no longer any opportunity to have faith. You will know. Therefore, the opportunity to be saved through faith is no longer an option. That opportunity came and went.

If one should go to hell, it isn't because they sinned. It is because the have rejected Jesus, the atoning sacrifice for their sins. So it doesn't matter if a saved person sins prior to their death. That sin was paid for by the blood of Christ.

I don't know...but I get where you are coming from. I did pray the same when someone I knew died, asking God to take her to heaven.

The answer is quite simple. Every knee will bow and confess Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). But for the unbelievers, they will confess and bow before they are thrown into Hell. They will spend eternity knowing that they were wrong. What you are suggesting is Universalism because you are suggesting that regardless of their rejection of Christ while alive, everyone will eventually accept Jesus as Lord after death and will be saved. It doesn't work that way.

    Says Revelation 20:11-15

"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire."
Now show me where anyone had their name scribbled in the Book of Life after death to avoid being thrown into the lake of fire.

Saul saw Jesus on the road to Damascus and Jesus asked him why he persecuted him. I mean all men die because of one lie from a serpent about God's Holy Character, isn't it possible that the purpose for the serpents lie will fail 100%?

I don't understand the question. The serpent has failed. Failed to stop God's plan of redemption. Anyone who is saved by their faith in the risen Lord is a failure on the part of the serpent.

So you then must conclude that Jesus was lying about everything He said about hell. Seeing that everyone will be saved. Jesus’ own words confirm that the time spent in heaven for the redeemed will last as long as that of the unredeemed in hell. Matthew 25:46 says, “Then they [the unsaved] will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” According to this verse, the punishment of the unsaved is just as eternal as the life of the righteous. Some believe that those in hell will eventually cease to exist, but the Lord Himself confirms that it will last forever. Matthew 25:41 and Mark 9:44 describe hell as “eternal fire” and “unquenchable fire.”

I think I am in a denial then. I know that the part of serenity prayer is to "accept the things I cannot change," but I have the hardest time accepting the possibility that someone I love is going to hell...

I couldn't effectively evangelize to someone who died a few years ago because she claimed to "accept all," including Christianity and new age beliefs. If I tell her about Jesus, she would say that she agrees and she loves Him, so I didn't know how to convince her that He is the only way.

When I got the news that she died, I asked God to forgive her and to not hold her wrong beliefs against her. I was under the impression that she still had a little bit of time until her soul travelled to the place of judgment, and then she had to stand in a long line behind other deceased people until it was her turn to be called.

Of course, I have no biblical basis for this, just a hope in God's mercy.

As ever in such threads, you answer only the first easy Scripture, and consider it done. Far from it. If anyone remains "in Hell," how can God ever become All in all? Further, how do you answer second quote about those with only wood, hay and stubble, all of which burned up? Admittedly, such get no reward, but the Scripture here states that they will be saved, nevertheless.
