Agree, and that you have to improve your disposition, seek training and education (even if it’s not formal), and be willing to work your way up if you want a piece of the pie. We ‘give’ way too much in this country now to those who aren’t willing to do the above... to the point it has become a sought-after way of life for a large percentage of people.
Yes, there are different ways to get education. In fact, at this point we need a LOT of trade type jobs.
Yes, all this betterment of one's means takes common sense, persistence, and the willingness and effort to keep trying. But, apparently, we’re not awash with that mentality and drive in this country anymore.
I personally feel that people who need assistance should pretty much be given in kind assistance only ( talking about food stamps, TANF, SSI, ( not SSDI or regular social security whether than any money or food stamps to get what they like. If you are going to allow people freedom with food stamps it should be run more like WIC.
Kneeling at the idol of politics is not going to save anyone. It's the epitome of worldliness.
And I don’t think any assistance program was ever intended to be a way-of-life when created, except for those who were truly disabled. But, now SSDI has probably become the most abused program we have. It has become an enhanced and early retirement for those who have not prepared. And it provides a lot of benefits beyond the check drawn too. Having said that, I hope we never stop wanting to help people in need. What’s so frustrating is the many people who are willing to take advantage of it.
I do not know though SSDI can be hard as you know what to get.
This topic always makes me feel bad when I discuss it... but, like I said it's just frustrating that so many are willing to take advantage of it. I just don't see how much more of this our country can withstand.
It is tricky that is for darn sure. Heck you LITERALLY often have to point out that it is a TERI case. That should not be the case. A TERI is mostly for people that are LITTERALLY dying/terminal or cases that are VERY serious such as a transplant or something.
