  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

Is the AG the President's "Wingman"?

Oh give me a break. Barr was made to look like a sycophantic fool by Trump and now we suddenly hear that ‘Oh no, we had a super secret meeting where we’d already made the decision and gosh I never read Twitter anyway so I couldn’t POSSIBLY have heard the president wanted something different!’.

You actually believe this nonsense? A 5 year old could come up with a more convincing excuse after being caught in a pile of crumbs with chocolate all over their face for why they definitely didn’t eat the cookies.

Because the constitution states that anytime the President and someone in his cabinet agree on something then the cabinet office-holder looks like a sycophantic fool??

Or did you mean that as an emotional argument not a fact about the government?

Would Barr making the statement that his goal is to be "President Trump's wing man" -- have given you a better feeling about how the Executive branch operates?

Or what if after Sessions left - Trump had said "I would really prefer a family member - like a sibling preferably my brother Robert - as my AG but I guess I can settle for a non-family member". Would that provide the emotional calm and comfort that some people are searching for on this topic?

Oh no wait! - John F. Kennedy already did have his brother Robert as his AG. Ok so scratch that -- there is no way Democrats or Republicans will go for that with Trump.

He looks like a sycophantic fool because as soon as Trump tweeted about something he immediately made the DoJ change it’s advice to the court. He could not have looked any more weak, craven and pathetic if he’d tried.

Not to those who agree with his decision to reduce the sentence to something reasonable as defined by the standards already set by the justice department. Reason... not emotion will always win the day in the long run.

So then not an emotional bit of data - but a fact none the less.

    So then... facts

Nobody whining about Barr's actions has given a quote from him saying "yes that is it! nine years... PERFECT!" that is then followed by "oops! Now that the President tweeted how about a lesser sentence"...

Not one voice of complaint - has such a bit of data "in real life"... so at best what we have is "the President and one of his Cabinet members AGREE on something..... how awful!!".

Now as a person who did not vote for Trump -- I still have to say - that common sense should rise to the surface on these obvious simple items. Voting for his opponent does not mean we must also lose our ability to admit to simple facts.

Trump supporters gave up on reason a long time ago, and exchanged it for blind sycophancy.

As for Barr, that’s a perfect example of you guys trying to twist something that happened right in front of people’s noses, to try and convince us that we didn’t actually see what we just saw. Let me make this simple for you..

-Barr’s DoJ told the court they wanted 7-9 years for Stone
    -Trump tweets this is unfair
-Barr orders his DoJ to change their advise to the court to a lower sentence

It’s not complicated, and we all saw it happen. And no they aren’t going to be able to claim some secret meetings happened which mean Barr isn’t really a Trump bootlicker.

Robert Kennedy was a lawyer who had worked in the Justice Department. Robert Trump is a real estate guy - do you really think that is the same? The first Robert qualified on his own merits while the second one decidedly does not.

Of course, Jared Kushner isn't exactly over-qualified for his position, but he does seem to make deals on the side to benefit his family's companies.

Well, he also said that Mexico would pay for the wall and that he'd repeal Obamacare. At this point, either you understand that he's not going to keep his promises or you just don't care.
