Is Revelation 8 catastrophic or uniformitarian?

You don't have to go into why you believe like you do.

Maybe you don't believe in catastrophism, or maybe you don't believe in uniformitarianism, and it'll be a cold day in Silicon Valley if you vote that way.

It doesn't matter to the purpose of this thread.

My goal in making this thread is to be able to go to church and say, "Can you believe a poll of the educated population shows n% saying Revelation 8 is not catastrophic?"

Catastrophic. GOD's judgement on creation in reverse

Revelation 8 is a story written by an old man who lived in a cave on the island of Patmos and who probably had been eating too much moldy rye bread.
Why was that old man living in that way?

Was it his decision

I don't care if it was written by Peter Pan.

Is it catastrophic or uniformitarian?

Especially as I am European, and we are not as fixated on end-of-the-world-ism as American evangelicals.
Then don't treat it as end-of-the-world-ism.

Many don't.

Just read it and vote.

It's a reading comprehension test.

Given their prevalence on forums like this, it would be difficult not to notice them.
Why are you in forums like this?
Did anyone force you to come here or to post even?

No

So why if you aren't interested in the TRUE things of GOD hsve you come here?

I only speak English. American with its weird vocabulary of pre-trib, post-trib and all the rest of it, is not a language I speak.

Because they are dangerous.
Is the TRUTH dangerous?
GOD's WORD is not for our harm
GOD does not send out HIS WORD and SPIRIT to harm but to restore and to give life to those who listen and believe
If HE didn't then we would be in danger
But HE doesn't
Up to today, GOD, by sending WITNESSES continues to plead with men to believe and be reconciled to HIM in HIS SON

You don't have a button for "Both" or "Neither," so you cannot class me as a coward. I am brave enough to put my (unpopular) views on this thread.

You see, I believe that there have been world wide catastrophes since the creation of the world. However, that has not stopped God from using processes such as erosion, tidal forces, etc. to shape the earth. Plate tectonics alone--while usually gradual, have had some remarkable results, such as mountains the shape of the continents, etc.

However, there is Yellowstone, a supervolcano. It has gone off several times in the past, covering great amounts of North America in dust, and changing the climate.

(No, I do not believe that Yellowstone is about to erupt. I am just pointing out that it has had several catastrophic events in the past.)

Then there is the famous meteor that crashed into the earth 65 million years ago, killing most of the dinosaurs in the world.

BTW, I DO believe that God created the earth, put animals and vegetables, placed abundant amounts of water and then created man. However, I also believe that He used the evolutionary process in some things.
