Is it possible to lose faith?

I think that my life would be a lot easier if I didn't believe or have faith. I can say I don't, but I can't feel it. I don't want to lose my faith, but i feel like even if I did, I couldn't.

A couple years ago, I tried to lose my faith because one of my friends told me a question i couldn't answer. I couldn't though. It was impossible. I tried fooling myself, but i couldn't stop believing. Anyone know what I mean?

I'm glad I never did loose my faith. But I was just wondering why I couldn't before.

Also, why have I felt the need to get closer with God and Jesus, I never used to care. Why did it start now?
We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

God calls some individuals to follow His Son and this call over time becomes increasingly strong.Next you will find that God will tell you specifically how to serve Him.

What was this question your friend asked you? Chances are it is a ridiculous, paradox question. Or a common one people like to use to create arguments that if you dont train yourself in the knowledge and the way to answer them, answering them on the spot feels impossible.

Also, yes it probably would be 'easy' to not have faith. If easier meant you care not of what you did, then you wouldnt feel so guilty when you engage in things you know is wrong.

    Romans 7:7-12
7What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet." 8But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead. 9Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. 10I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.
11For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death. 12So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.

Me and my boyfriend once said to each other that it seems the more we read the bible and learn of God the more responsible we come. Which is true, when we learn of whats wrong and right, we now have a standard to live up too. And this is probably the exact thing that is making you want to shy away from faith or feel like it is the easier way out. But your not turning from your faith because you know better.

God didn't say life for us as Christians would be easy. And this is just a minor example since there are people all over the world being killed for their faith but sometimes it is just really hard for me and overwhelming when I have people all around me bashing and blaspheming my faith. I want to become bitter and unchrist-like...which isnt good.

If God has called you, it is a wonderful gift. You now have a chance to create a never-ending relationship with the most loyal friend you will ever come across. Why would you even want to lose it?

They question was:"If God knew we were going to fall, why did he even create us?"

It is because you are the only believer of Jesus among hundreds of non-believers in school. Your parents sent you out into the wolves, either unknowing or uncaring of what may become of you. It is time to correct your parents. Stand up and be heard, you want what is right for you so you can grow with Jesus and that only properly can be done in a Christian school. Anyone else who tells you otherwise is talking garbage. Search out and find a Christian School and tell you parents you want to go there. Tell them you are tormented and ridiculed in school constantly for being a Christian and you need to live a child's life growing around other Christians, not be sent out to the wolves to persecute you when you are still learning and growing in Jesus. If they care enough, they will send you to a Christian School. Never Give up, Never surrender. Keep the Faith. God Bless.

I don't want to go to a Christian school, And we can't afford it. I even have to pay half of my check to bills and things we need around the house. My Mom isn't very smart and keeps spending all her money on Beer, cigarettes, and on her boyfiend, she pays most of the bills, then she begs us for money. My dad is currently 3000 miles away, and hes on house arrest for the next couple years.
I do things on my own accord, don't bring my parents into this. We only have a Catholic school, and I'm non-denominational, I don't even want to go. I used to go to a Catholic school, and didn't like it.

God's initial intention was to create perfect harmony and peace between man and Himself. Read Romans ch. 9 and then read it again.
  8. Dear ExaltedReign,

Please keep your faith as the dearest thing to your heart. Your faith in the Truth of God will save your soul, for eternity, and most likely, because of your witness, will be the instrument of salvation for many others, as well. Try to find and read Hudson Taylor's Spiritual Secret or The Spiritual Secret of Hudson Taylor (they are different versions of the same man's life) to encourage you to stand firm in your faith, even in the midst of adversity.

To answer the question that was asked of you, God created us to love Him and to serve Him.

He did foreknow that we were going to fall--because He foreknows all things.

Did He predistine us to fall?

    NO. He did not.

However, the possibility of falling is intrinsic in the condition of free will. If we did not have the possibility of free will, our love back to God would mean nothing. We would just be puppets.

But, God is Love, and Love, by its very nature, desires to be loved freely. Therefore, God, in creating beings with His gift of free will, "knew" that we could potentially fall--and in His all of His perfect foreknowledge, knew that we would fall.

That is why YHWH, All Mighty God, in His ultimate Love, sent Jesus Christ to redeem us. While He knew we would fall, He also knew He had a plan to save us from our fallen nature.

And that, my friend, is why we can confidently have faith in Him, no matter what happens to us in this earthly journey--because He has already proven to us that He loves us so much that we can trust Him with each and every circumstance and/or attack that can and will ever come against us.

Jesus Christ is THE Victor over everything fallen.

I am so thankful that you have strong faith at such a young age. Never let the enemy steal that faith, away. It is your greatest gift--faith in the finished work of the Cross through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of all mankind--specifically for who will receive the free gift of salvation by FAITH.

You are on the right path.

Is it possible to lose Faith? YES! It's also possible to develop Faith, for it to grow. It starts as a tiny speck like a mustard seed, there's little faith, great faith, common faith, mutual faith, right on up to the gift of Faith.

It's very very important to recognize that your Faith comes directly from G-d, and to bear in mind how precious this is! Nothing in this world or in this lifetime can compare to what G-d gives us. Hold on tightly to that! This is actually part of our breastplate of righteousness, the second piece of our Spiritual armor in Ephesians 6, but the Truths contained in that are largely forgotten by the Church today. They're there to help you, as part of G-d being in your life to save you. That's a big difference

This same thing happened with Noah and the flood. "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth" Genesis 6:5-7

G-d tells us this question your friend asked (1,000's of years later) did occur to him. So your "friend" isn't as smart as he thinks he is! ^_^

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Ephesian 2:4-7

I want to show you something, so imagine these things (maybe then you could see it)

Imagine heaven. Big space, a city, where God and the others Beings dwell.

Imagine earth. Where the people live.

God and the beings in heaven are watching over the people on earth. God is watching your every move. God is guiding your steps (even though sometimes you do not realize it).

God is your real Father. Heaven is your real home. Your earthly relationship is like foster parents relationship. You belong in heaven, with your real father and your real family.

You were placed on earth, but you are never alone. Your father is always watching over you. He wants you to travel the path he has prepared for you. There is a purpose of some sort. He is keeping in touch with you. Sometimes you might not feel it, but He is always there, keeping in touch with you, invisibly.

You are HIS. You are not just some lost person on earth. You are a CHILD. HIS Child. He is lovingly watching over you.

The time has now come for all God's true children to awaken from their sleep and to come to know their Father personally. All the people around the globe are hearing the same call: come to the Father and He will reveal Himself to you.

It's like in the "Sleeping Beauty" story. The time has come, the prince has "kissed" the princess and she is being awakened.

The children of God are being awakened. That's why you heard the call. You are HIS! You are blessed and lucky.

It's like you finally found your real father and it's soon time to get to know Him better. These are exciting times when the family of God (in heaven and earth) is uniting, is discovering each other.

It's time to come HOME! Home where you belong! Finally...

    (sometime in the future years)
