Yeah Harris is probably going to drop out soon. WIth the exception of her performance in the first debate where she hammered Biden on his opposition to bussing, she's been sort of struggling from the beginning and this is imo the final nail in the coffin.

I can see that, because if something unexpected happens to one of the front runners she might try to grab their voters or money.

...and I think she feels that she rather bungled her campaign this time, but wants to keep her name before the public for the future. Maybe a VP nomination in 2020?

That's a possibility, or maybe she's aiming for AG if the Democratic nominee wins that she can then try to parley into a successful race.

I'd agree, except that giving up a Senate seat--probably a lifetime position--for a cabinet position is tough to justify. That's why it seldom happens.

Jeff Sessions thinks he can do it but then he's in the Deep South.

Jeff Sessions thinks he can do it but then he's in the Deep South.
He was unusual for having taken the job of AG. And look where he is now.

He had a seat for life (for all intents and purposes) and now he is the underdog in his attempt to regain that seat. Most Senators would not have done what he did, which is why I very seriously doubt that Senator Harris would give up her seat in the Senate for anything less than President or Vice-President.
