The Divine Comedy is pure classic poetry. Read the entire work and not just Inferno. Remember that it is an allegory and not theological truth (especially from the Orthodox point of view).
If a person is not well formed in Orthodox theology, it could prove confusing at that point. Your priest may know if such would be the case for you or not.
It's a great book. Don't read it as spiritual advice, necessarily. I'm not a fan of Rod Dreher, but he has a book about how awesome Dante is, and it's one thing I'll agree with him on.
