I present this as a ethical questions since the issue of abortion is in the news.
The Supreme Court is currently hearing the abortion cases from Texas and Mississippi.
The Texas law(known as the Texas Heartbeat Act) bans abortion after just six weeks of pregnancy.
The Mississippi law bans abortions just after 15 weeks if I am correct.
If the Supreme Court upholds the abortion laws in either or both states, It could mean the end of Roe V Wade.
And there is a good chance that could happen since the court has a 6 to 3 conservative majority.
This would be a major victory for pro-life and Christian activist who have been fighting Roe for decades.
The overturning of Roe V Wade will not immediately mean the end of all abortion. It will just go to the states.
A major talking point in the pro-life community is that there is no such thing as an unwanted child.
Not too long ago, I had a conversation with someone I guess you could say is strongly pro-choice.
I was arguing how abortion is the taking of an unborn life in the womb and this person was expressing the opposite viewpoint.
But, I brought up something even more controversial about abortion that is hardly ever mention. We discussed the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a racist and wanted sterilize the black race so they could not breed.
What this person said kind of shocked my and challenged my beliefs. He said that maybe black people should not be born if they have to suffer racism and discrimination in all of its ugly forms. After that, I started thinking is all life truly wanted if it has to suffer discrimination and persecution over something that they have no control over.
I know Jews have suffered much longer and more so than blacks, but they are God's chosen people.
