If we are a big forest then it is ready to burn down to the ground. That's what the first two articles suggest. Subsequent articles just flat out say we need to be ready for a big war.

International Relations Theory Suggests Great-Power War Is Coming – Foreign Policy

That article suggests that based on existing international relations theories, we might be in trouble.

The following article says societies face potential oblivion unless the experts who got us here manage to walk a tightrope in order to get us out. I've listed some short excerpts if you don't want to read the article.

Societies Face “Potential Oblivion”

The Beginning of History - Surviving the Era of Catastrophic Risk
archive.ph

Below are some short excerpts from the article:

“From climate change to nuclear war, engineered pandemics, uncontrolled artificial intelligence, and other destructive technologies not yet foreseen, a worrying number of risks conspire to threaten the end of humanity,” the philosopher William MacAskill writes in a new essay. As societies face “potential oblivion,” what steps must governments take to ensure humanity has a future—and to make it a future worth having?

Meeting the challenge “will take daring and imagination,” MacAskill argues. “Enormous economic, social, and political transformations remain possible—and necessary. If we act wisely, the coming century will be defined by the recognition of what we owe the future, and our grandchildren’s grandchildren will look back at us with gratitude and pride. If we mess up, they might never see the light of day.”

"The prospect of a timeless future has given way to visions of no future at all. Ideology remains a fault line in geopolitics, market globalization is fragmenting, and great-power conflict has become increasingly likely."

"Chief among those challenges is how humanity manages the dangers of its own genius. Advances in weaponry, biology, and computing could spell the end of the species, either through deliberate misuse or a large-scale accident. Societies face risks whose sheer scale could paralyze any concerted action."

"Far from a safe resting place, the technological and institutional status quo is a precarious predicament from which societies need to escape."

"In contrast to Fukuyama’s “end of history,” other observers of international affairs have focused on the more literal meaning of the phrase: the potential for humanity to perish altogether."

"A recent report by the U.S. National Intelligence Council identified runaway artificial intelligence, engineered pandemics, and nanotechnology weapons, in addition to nuclear war, as sources of existential risks."

"If it is so difficult to safely govern emerging technologies, some argue, then why don’t we simply refrain from inventing them in the first place?"

"The status quo, in other words, is already heavily mined with potential catastrophes."

"So we must walk a tightrope. We must ensure that global cooperation reduces the risks of global catastrophe to near zero while maintaining the freedom and diversity of thought and social structures that would enable us to build a future that our grandchildren’s grandchildren would thank us for."

If you gotta prep, then put prepping for nuclear war at the top of your list.
We live a mile from an Air Force Base.
We are too old to move and feel pretty good about what we have done here. If we were younger, we would aim for the easterly side of the Appalachian Mountains... probably in NC, especially if we had kids. We are prepped up well for food. We are working on water and electricity to power a small refrigerator freezer. So much to do. So much!
Thanks for sharing the videos.

Why Growing Parts of the Christian Right Are Convinced It’s the Apocalypse

Why Growing Parts of the Christian Right Are Convinced It’s the Apocalypse

This is interesting because it comes from Slate.Com. That's one of the many magazines that I love to hate.

What would you get if you demanded that Revelation be helpful?

The seals:

1. 1945 - Atomic bombs on Japan
2. 9/11
3. Isaiah 17 - Israel nukes its neighbors.
4. Isaiah 18 - Russia and China nuke America in a surprise attack at night. This is in retaliation for Isaiah 17. Seal 3 causes seal 4 to open within a year.

Every seal is a shock. Most are nuclear shocks. The color of a dead white horse is pale. If America is the pale horse then it is also the white one.

Currently, I'm waiting for Isaiah 17. How close are we?

[6-Oct-2022] Israel readies for war with Hezbollah after Lebanon ups maritime demands - Israel News - The Jerusalem Post

I'm thinking Isaiah 17 will be coming along real soon. That will give Russia and China a green light to attack America.

Based on Russia's nuclear doctrine, if an ally (Syria) is nuked (by Israel) then Russia can nuke back. In this case the target will be America.

At this point, Russia doesn't actually need an excuse to nuke America. Plus, America gutted most of its nuclear arsenal. It is vulnerable here.

Both #Russia and #China are on war footings, and #Biden is talking about “Armageddon.” Isn’t it time we move to #DEFCON2? #Ukraine #Taiwan

Opinion | Nuclear Annihilation Is a Threat Again - The New York Times

"Like Kennedy, Khrushchev had experienced the horror of World War II. He knew that nuclear war would be many times more destructive. Kremlin archives show that for all his bloodcurdling rhetoric, Khrushchev was determined to find a peaceful solution as soon as it became clear that his nuclear gamble had failed. Mr. Putin, by contrast, has chosen to raise the stakes at every critical point. Escalation has become his preferred tactic."

ADVISOR HAT

Folks, keep this thread on prepping and not politics or it will be closed.

So there is an increased chance of nuclear war - how do you prep for it?

Hi FreeinChrist,

I've copied all the material in thread and saved it. Why don't you just delete this thread?
