Glad to see some people becoming angry at the idea that someone was trying to get the government to stop people from buying meat. Perhaps PETA has been lobbying Iowa Republicans? The newly formed Vegan Republican Caucus?

Lots of big name brands on that WIC list. Probably some bribes made sure that the american poor have to buy the expensive brand items.
I'm shocked, shocked at the cynicism being displayed here.

more staggering paternalism from the party that threw a hissy fit over covid masks…
I don’t think there were hissy fits. But I hope other states follow this example.

The GOP nanny state is government over reach writ large. Republicans need to stop interfering with how people live their lives.

I forget who said it (probably some one modern Republicans would hate) but Republicans really need to remember the words “The top 9 most terrifying words in the English Language are: I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.”
If you don’t want a nanny state, then let’s get rid of SNAP.

It's amazing to me how Anerican Christians-almost exclusively Republican, American Christians- will complain about tax money going to help feed the poor, and will support ending that help, but then they never put forth the effort to unify their vast resources to address the need themselves, thereby, eliminating the possibility of tax money going toward helping feed the poor. If GOP Christians are worried about "socialism," eliminate the possibility by doing it yourselves.

"When a man strips another of his clothes, he is called a thief. Should not a man who has the power to clothe the naked but does not do so be called the same? The bread in your larder belongs to the hungry. The cloak in your wardrobe belongs to the naked. The shoes you allow to rot belong to the barefoot. The money in your vaults belongs to the destitute. You do injustice to every man whom you could help but do not." Basil the Great

"Whatever you have done to the least of these you have done to me." Jesus

The way you put this indicates that you have some sort of evidence. Please provide.

The way you have commented on this thread indicates you begrudge the poor receiving the government's help. Please do better.

Here’s every post I’ve made in this thread. Which one says i begrudge the poor receiving government help?

It doesn’t say that they are banned from buying these items.

I don’t think there were hissy fits. But I hope other states follow this example.

Not at all. They can still buy meat.

And still nothing preventing them from buying meat, etc.

They aren’t being punished. ::doh:

I hope not. They haven’t done anything to merit a reward.

I know that. I posted them. I’m asking which one states or implies that I’m against government help for the poor?

I have a better question. Why don't you just state your position in clear and unambiguous terms, then we can all see where you stand, and you can show how wrong I am?
