Involuntary commitment job loss

Any advice? I overdosed on meds in an attempt at suicide after a domestic violence incident. I was involuntarily committed by an ED and held for 11 days and I got fired from a new job that I worked hard to get because i wasn't allowed to leave the hospital.

Do you have unfair dismissal rules in the US? We will pray for you of course. You've not told us what the job entails. The management may have concerns that your mental state will affect your job performance and the other workers.

True story.
A guy I knew who worked for a meat packer delivering beef to retail stores robbed a filling station one weekend and got two years in prison. As soon as he was released he got his old job back, as his offense didn't disqualify him from the meat delivery job. Also he was a popular, good looking, funny, and hard working fellow.
