A child with autism is normal in appearance, at least to the untrained eye. But he has a few physical anomalies characteristic of the disorder. The corners of his mouth are low compared with the center of his upper lip, and the tops of his ears flop over (left). His ears are a bit lower than normal and have an almost square shape (right).

Hmm, that IS interesting! Here's a pic of my little guy. It's interesting too, when we go somewhere out in public how my husband and I can pick out which kids are most likely autistic. The way they talk, behaviour and even the way they carry themselves. Many people would never guess our son is autistic just by looking at him. But once they see him try to talk or start acting up....whoa! You get some pretty good reactions!

Very interesting. I have his mouth and similar ears. I never realized that they were characteristics of autism (noone else in my family has my mouth).

That is very interesting. My little guy looks normal, except when he talks he seems much younger than he really is. Nicolas is 4 1/2 but most people think he's around 3 because of the way he talks.
