This is a section of society which is often neglected or overlooked by the church and I don't see a forum here which people with intellectual disabilities and their carers could identify with. Does anyone know of any ministries which reach out to such people?

If you know someone personally in this situation, just spending time with them, praying for them and making them feel joyfull in small ways is a big help. Christ will do the rest I believe.

The church should also be caring for them and praying for their spiritual well- being.

Yes. I have a granddaughter with autism, low on the spectrum.

Go to the "Forums" page by clicking on the "Menu" (at left on top)

Scroll down the page and look for:
"Recovery (for support- no debate)

Scroll down the page and look for:
"Mental Health"

In second row on top you'll see:
"Autism, Aspergers...."

It's there. You'll find it.
I don't know if you could follow this insead:

Yes, I am familiar with the Autism/Asperger's forum and have actually contributed to it a few times, but not everyone with a learning disability is on the autistic spectrum.

The other thing that would come under intellectual disabilities would, I believe, be dyslexia.
