On December 8, Sr. Quinn sent a thank-you note to those who lobbied their senators to vote against the Nelson-Hatch-Casey amendment.

Just goes to show that theology can be twisted to trick souls.

that makes it sound like Mary could have chosen the other option.. that's horrifying  for Mary there was only one thing she wanted to do: God's will. That's how we should imitate her.

Kind of wierd argument - by choosing 'for' one is automatically affirming the goodness of choosing 'against'? (Flawed in several other ways as well, but that seems the worst flaw among many.)

Mary's "choice" should we remind her, was made BEFORE the Holy Spirit came upon her... before the act to conceive  and Mary said yes against all odd. i mean, that young girl was not yet married, she was risking stoning, so basically, risking her life, literally to accept our Savior.

so the "choice" sister Quinn should be advocating is the choice to abstain from sex.

may God have mercy on this poor soul :prayer:

I wonder how her personal letter to a few individual Senators wound up in the Chicago Tribune.

I wonder how much good her stalkers could accomplish if they dedicated themselves to more positive activities than stalking a nun.

Her letter wasn't intended for publication. She didn't intend to scandalize you, or bring more criticism upon her order.

If she had written a "letter to the editor" that would be a different story, but instead, the editor was bird-dogging her.

    Well said!

There is no human that ever lived that did not have the freedom to choose. That includes Mary. She chose well. Seems that the freedom of choice has been given by God. Thousands or millions (don't know how many people lived before Mary - :)) had the freedom to choose and did so. Mary had choice as well. I should follow her example.

I do not consider Miss Quin to be a nun. She has opted out of honoring life and the dictates of the Church. They (whoever is the higher up) should remove the status of Sister and let her go her own way. IMO

It is interesting that the suggestion that Mary had a chocice should provoke such strong responses. Surely Mary had a chocice and exercised it to bear the Son of God. If we are calvinist we would perhaps say that she was predestined, and elected by God to bear that child and that her will had no say in the matter. I differ.Mary did have a choice. She obeyed God and accomplished His will. Interestingly, if she had chosen to abort that child, would mankind have been damned?

I really hope Catholic realize that this Catholic "nun" is not following the teaching of the Church.

I am not exercising a CHOICE when there is ONLY ONE ANSWER: Yes, to choosing life, every time, all the time.

I wonder if this nun will have to answer for all the lives that were lost because of her escorting this women to abortion clinics on the day she enters heaven.

May the Lord and our Blessed Lady watch over this Sister of ours and I pray that she would decide to make the choice to choose life one day very soon. :crossrc:

There are a lot of people working in senator's offices.

Stalkers? Never heard of any, but observers of her 'escorting' women would be apparent to anyone present.

    She only scandalizes herself.

    What editor? What proof?
