India's Covid caseload has risen sharply in the past few weeks.

The country's been reporting more than 150,000 cases a day. In January and February daily cases fell below 20,000.

So, how did India get from relative calm to its new crisis?

I watched the entire 8 minutes of the BBC video. That their curve is rising exponentially is portending a lot of suffering to come.

It's sad.

What is the death rate? That's the most important metric.
Good question, and something to look to see how it turns out, because in the past part of what hiked the death rate up higher was the sudden crush of too many patients to care for as overwhelmed Italy in the north, and also to a lesser extent New York here in the U.S. a year ago, and that's well understood now, and so they have huge field hospitals (like we set up at times in the U.S. but didn't use nearly as heavily as they are already doing -- Caring for Patients at a COVID-19 Field Hospital).
