In the Bible when does the Sabbath (Shabbat) finish?

I believe that the Sabbath starts on Friday at sundown and ends on Saturday at sundown. It seems the Jewish day always starts at sundown.

Jewish reckoning has it that a day begins at sundown, "and the evening and the morning were the first day", so their sabbath begins at sundown on Friday and ends at sundown on Saturday. There is no hard and fast beginning or end of the Sunday day of worship for Christians. The earliest tradition of Christianity was to gather before sunrise on Sunday for the liturgy. Later it was decided that Christians should "rest as they are able" on Sunday.

The days of creation are identified by "evenings and mornings", i.e., each day begins with the evening. The evening of the second day ends the first day. There is no Friday, Saturday, etc. in the bible, the bible simply says first day, second day, and so forth. In Acts it is recorded:

Act 20:7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread..

And then again in 1 Corinthians:

1Co 16:2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside...

The days in biblical times were kept by number, and not by name. By tradition, the first day of the week (Sunday) came to be known as "the Lord's day". The Council of Laodicea finally ended observance of the Jewish sabbath by Christians in the manner of the Jews:

Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians.

It seems like you want to know when/if the Sabbath should stop being observed forever. And Why we now meet on Sunday?
