What is the Baptist teaching on why God even made man? What was our "purpose", if you will, before sin ever entered into the world? Why were we put here? What would we have done all day had sin not entered into the world through Adam? Please, if you can, I'd love the scripture referrences to your replies too. Thanx for any and all thoughts ahead of time... :D

Fellowship.
God wants fellowship with us and we should desire the same from him.

Gen. 3:8-9 (NIV)
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.9 But the Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?"

God was walking through the garden looking for Adam and Eve because he desired to have fellowship with them. Adam and Eve hid from God because of their sin. This shows that sin broke the very close and intimate relationship that they had with God and directly affected ours also. So much for the days of hanging out with God in the garden. Praise Jesus for the cross. He opened the door for all to renew their fellowship with God.

God apparently desired both worship and fellowship with beings possessing the freedom to choose to either accept or reject God as Lord. Thus, He made us as eternal souls in His image--but housed in temporary physical bodies similar to those of other animals. He gave us the curiousity to explore His creation, the mental capacity to understand His commands, the moral ability to know right from wrong, and the freedom of choice.
