Alan Keith, Sunday evening! now that brings back memories, and good ones. Such lovely music, and he had a pleasing personality. I don't remember Heilig , Heilig , Heilig, but I am enjoying it now.

The Salve Regina is the melody used for an advent gathering song by Daniel L Schutte, 'Christ circle round us'; my choir sang it when I put together an Advent programme in 2012. Using the 'Veni Emmanuel' song book from OCP, I based the whole programme on the Great O Antiphons, but now I have had to retire and hand over to someone else; lung problems.

It was very frustrating at first as I left a beautiful pipe organ and a lovely choir, but I have got over it and I am not fighting any more.

Mary of Walsingham .

The Slipper Chapel Statue goes to Wembley

During the Visit of Pope John Paul II to England in 1982, the Slipper Chapel Statue was taken to Wembley Stadium and was carried around the stadium prior to the Papal Mass preceeded by The Director of the Roman Catholic Shrine (Fr Clive Birch sm) and the Administrator of the Anglican Shrine (Rev Christopher Colven).

The Pope then insisted that the Statue be placed on the altar for the Mass.

That is quite wonderful, it must have been for the people who witnessed the vision;

A beautiful tune, I know it to the words, 'Brightest and best are the sons of the morning'.
I took my choir on a pilgrimage during Lent 2013; we visited four churches with completely different buildings, furniture, and acoustical properties. It was so interesting to reflect on the different ways of worshipping in the different buildings. We sang a service in each church, reading parts of the 'psalms of the ascent', and singing different psalm songs; only local churches, but a wonderful spiritual pilgrimage.
