That's encouraging to see, IMO. There may still be some hope for the Republican Party after all.

I wonder if political parties in general are just done, what with more and more people just going unaffiliated or independent in some way.

Well I reregistered as an independent years ago!

I hold my nose and vote for the Republican candidate nearly all the time because the Dem or independents are far less godly than the Republican.

As Christians we almost always vote for the lesser of two evils. But I will say this:

I do not like Trumps morals and the way he conducts himself. But He has accomplished more things that Christians should applaud and approve as Christians in America than even Ronald REagan!

...when did playing golf, calling people names on twitter and getting impeached start being considered as "accomplished" let alone being something "Christians should applaud and approve"?

And since when should Trump be referred to as He instead of he? I've seen this before on this site.

I'm a registered Independent myself and I would vote for a Republican if I thought the candidate was more qualified than the Democratic candidate, but that has changed for me since Trump ensnared the Republican Party four years ago. I'll vote Democratic or a Third Party candidate (who didn't supported Trump) because I won't vote for a Trump Republican. I've lost respect for the Republican Party, tbh.

how about record markets that have boosted 65% of American pensions?
    How about 3.5 % unemployment?
How about over 7,000,000 unfilled jobs in America?
How about record employment and actual increase in wages for the middle class?
How about record employment for women and minorities?
Getting fair trade deals for America?
How about getting NATO to shoulder more of the burden for their own defense?
How about building a wall to slow the crush of illegal immigrants wrongly crossing the border!
How about recognizing Jerusalem as Israels rightful capitol?
How about keeping gorwth going long after a recession should have hit the economy?
How about putting originalist judges on teh bench that believe in life and the law as written?

Trump is rude and crude without a doubt! But we want a president who is a man of action and not politically correct. I will take one who fires back at those who slime him daily and gets the job done than a politically correct talker who does little.

And impeached? Anyone who knows and watched the banana trial in the house committees and shiff and his six stooges in the senate know this is nothing more than their hatred for Trump because he has called them out for what they are! there was no bribery or extortion or qui pro quo nor was there obstruction of congress.

As for golf, do you think that a POTUS should not play golf?

...shouldn't those be reasons to thank President Obama? Since he's the one behind them?

When he manages to do so you will let us know, right?

uhmmm...yeah, I'm not sure how driving a wedge between our allies of decades is a way to get "people to shoulder more of a burden"? Because from what I see, he's made it so America is more vulnerable then when he took office.

    A) I wasn't aware he'd built a wall, B) I thought someone swore repeatedly Mexico was going to pay for it. (any proof they have/are going to?)

That depends: is throwing gasoline on a dumpster fire a good way to put out that fire? Asking for a friend.

You mean the job growth that started under President Obama? So yet another reason to thank President Obama.

Because the one thing people need most in this country is to make a branch that's supposed to be impartial as partisan as possible?

Finally, something we can agree on!

Maybe you do, I prefer a President who knows how to be get people to work together not one who apparently learned how to "negotiate" in a schoolyard, by bullying any kid smaller then him into giving him their lunch money. All while some of the other kids stand around and cheer him on. :sigh:

So...you don't really have a problem with him being rude and crude, because he's rude and crude to the right people? Other Americans? that doesn't seem...right. :sorry:

That's the problem though, he doesn't "get the job done" he's managed to make America one of the least trusted nations on earth, all while his one accomplishment has been: massive tax cuts for him and his friends.

or there was, and he's guilty. Of course there's a simple way to fix all this: let him and all those people who could prove he's innocent go under oath and testify. There you go, problem solved.

What I think is he spent 8 years of the previous administration complaining every time the President played golf, and swore he'd be too busy being President to go play if he was elected. How did that promise work out? About as well as his promise Mexico would pay for the wall? :)
tulc(thinks nolidad should check out this site if the Presidents golfing habits are of interest: Trump Golf Count )

I'm currently registered Democrat because of Bernie, but I've been registered unaffiliated with any political party for most of my voting life and still consider myself as such regardless of how I am registered on any given day. I don't understand why people have undying loyalty to a political party. I've voted for both Republicans and Democrats over the years, though I've reached the point where I will likely not vote Republican again. Maybe in a local election if I know the person and know that he or she isn't a fascist nutcase. I don't believe the party is salvageable.

There is nothing in the Bible that supports the conservative Christian rationale that when it comes to this President, "the ends justify the means!"

If conservative Christians think that they can emerge from this "unholy" alliance with Donald Trump without suffering major collateral damage for decades to come, they're deluding themselves!

Hmmmm....shades of history. This is how many Germans felt about Hitler when he came to power. You could say some believed:
"I do not like Hitler's morals and the way he conducts himself. But he has accomplished more things that Germans should applaud and approve as Germans than any of our previous leaders!"

Maybe it’s a keyboard issue. My iPad does weird capitalization at times. Notice the "REagan"? Seen that before on this site???

It's an alliance that has severely damaged the Christian witness of the conservatives who support him and it has also obliterated their moral credibility. What kind of Christian witness will be effective if it's been tarnished with numerous accusations like toxic Christianity, hypocrisy, selling out, selling your soul, compromising moral convictions, and abandoning Christian principles? And there's also mockery.

None of that is definitive, because at the end of it each person must choose:

"But he who fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death.”—Proverbs 8

"If you are wise, you are wise to your own advantage; but if you scoff, you alone will bear the consequences."—Proverbs 9

No excuses. Anyone who has come to Christ has done so against many bad examples. This doesn’t justify bad examples, nor should we put stumbling blocks in anyone’s path. But it is true. No one gets a pass.

This world isn't a show God is putting on for the unbelieving, and he isn’t soliciting critiques.

sorry but no! Obama can't take credit for actions 3 years into the next presidency. If that is the case then Bush is responsible for ending the great recession.

Maybe you should check with the news.

USMCA, China phase one and new european deals are all on the books!

Israel has a historic claim to the city as their capital. There was no "palestinian people" until Yassar Arafat declared them so in the 60's. Sorry but mollifying anti-Jew muslims is the gas you refer to.

Well that is the opinion of the marxist left in america, but has no evidentiary basis.

Well you should listen to American news and learn what is happening in this country then. 490 miles and counting!

He said but did not make an oath. If you are going to hold a politician responsible for every thing he uttered.......

Well seeing how Trump has a higher rating with normally solid democratic minorities, your whine here is moot. The dems are the one who refuse to work with Trump. They can't even bring themselves to congratulate Trump on USMCA

Well if you read American news from even the most ardent foes of Trump- you would have learned that the tax cuts cuts benefited the middle class the most! And that they hurt the rich! So said the WAPO and NYT who have not even a like for Trump. You should read more than just the fringe let talking points.

And that is why we need originalist judges and judges who rule on law! Which is exactly why the left fights hard against Trumps appointments. They rule on what the law as written says!

Your answer just shows you know nothing of what impeaching is. The house in all its work just presents an accusation to teh Senate who then tries the accusation based on the testimony and witnesses and evidence gathered in the house inquiry! All 17 democratic called witnesses in th ehouse testified under oath, they never heard Trump order anyone to violate any law! All documents collected by the democrats in the house could not prove any linkage or directive to link aid to political gain.

So he has hypocrisy like Obama and every other human who has walked the earth. But anything started under Obama was improved under Trump. Just because you don't like the man doesn't mean you can change the facts.

Just another point to show the irrelavency of this. Obama told the country we should accept manufacturing jobs were gone forever and were not coming back! Trump showed that wrong and has gotten back hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs your hero Obama said were gone forever!
