May I ask...where and when did God cleanse pork or shell fish or buzzard as food suitable to consume?

Also, when did we ever term those items as "common?"

    Nope.

There is a big difference between not eating something for health reasons - which is what some of our SDA friends say - and not eating it because God commanded us, i.e 21st century Gentile Christians, not to eat it.

Jesus and Paul both said that food cannot bring us closer to God, nor can it make us sin.

Odd. I read an SDA member state on another thread, that it was a sin. Maybe he was joking?

No, he was probably quite serious.
If SDAs believe we are bound by the OT laws, then breaking those laws would be seen as sin.

    But I don't believe that.
As a Gentile, I was not, and never have been, under the Jewish law. Even if I did used to keep it; Jesus is the Christ and came to fulfil that law. Christ is everything - the author and perfecter of our faith, the beginning and the end, the fulfilment of what is written about him in the OT, and the feasts and sacrifices. He himself said that food cannot make us unclean because it goes into the stomach and out again. We are unclean because of what comes out of the mouth - which is a reflection of what is in our minds and hearts - not what goes into it. Paul, once a devout, zealous Jew, agreed and said that food does not bring us closer to God.

The law could never make the Jews righteous and holy; Christ has done both - he is my righteousness and makes me holy.:amen::clap:

Eating bacon is not going to change that.

OK, you make a very convincing argument and you present a very strong conclusion, yet still I ask you ( and be completely honest), would you prefer your salvation with or without bacon?

I'm not sure what you're asking.

If it's would I choose salvation if I had to give up bacon for the rest of my life, then of course I would. Knowing Jesus and doing his will is everything to me. If he told me that bacon was preventing me from growing as a Christian, then I'd give it up. But he hasn't.
If you're asking can I be saved even though I eat bacon, though I haven't actually had it for months, and pork - then yes, I ca and I am.

The logical conclusion after taking scripture out of it's context.

No, no, no... you don't have to choose between salvation & bacon,... God wouldn't be that cruel. That sounds like a non-Calvinist's view of Calvinists.
No, you have to choose between salvation with, or salvation without bacon. What's it gonna be?

Hmm, nothing better than a honey-baked ham, BLT sandwich, stuffed pork chops, or ribs?

I don't eat a lot of meat, because it think its better for my health. Pork, however, is one of my favorites. I would rather eat pork than a sweet little lamb.

 It's not an issue - I am saved.
    Sometimes I eat bacon, sometimes I don't.

10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
    (Matthew 15:10+11)

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
    (Acts 10:11-15)

    28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
    (Acts 15:28+29)
