Keeping in mind this is needn't be realistic, but pls let's not cross into silly (like "a law saying I don't have to pay taxes")....and/or merely because it aligns with your religious/political beliefs (like make Islam faith illegal etc)...lastly I'd like to ask to refrain from the more hotly debated topics which are already beat to death anyway, e.g. abortion, gun control.

For me:

- Far far FAR tougher laws (which would actually be enforced) for animal abuse. This is a horrific joke as it stands. Also offenders would be on a federal and easy to access list for being banned - for life - from owning ANY pet (unless you want to count insects). No dogs, no cats, no goldfish, nada. All pet shops or other people selling pets would be required to sign something saying they checked this person and they weren't on it. Oh and all pets would be required to have a microchip with pet name, current owner etc on it. Bottom line let's really and truly HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE already.

- Mandatory community service. For everyone. (Obviously there would be exceptions for medical reasons, age, and so forth) A better way that might cause less whining might be impose an additional "community tax" on everyone, but it's waived if you put in X hours per month of community service (this could be stuff like hospital visitations, cleaning the litter that the aforementioned slugs toss everywhere, big brother/big sisters, etc etc).

- A short and safe but still mandatory military service right after high school (offhand I'd say a year). Again, not put into war zones etc - but people who enjoy the freedoms so many have protected and fought and died for should be required to give back at least a LITTLE. It might be as simple as administrative work or grounds-keeping some such. It would also be a great way for kids to grow up more and/or figure out what they want to do w/their life before going into college or what not. (They would also get what most nowdays desperately need...discipline...and again, ACCOUNTABILITY).

- Punishments for people convicted to hit people where they live, so to speak, more. Busted for embezzlement or theft or similar monetary crimes? Consider yourself bankrupt as you lose a very large % of whatever money/valuables you own. Rape? Say good-bye to you-know-what. etc. Again: accountability. None of this umpteen second chances garbage.

- I know this is relatively minor compared to more important things, but tougher laws and again actual enforcement of them for litterbugs. I'm sick to death of all the trash along the roads, even in nicer and more rural areas. If necessary put cameras along the roads etc that would snap pics to bust these slugs and hit with HEAVY fines. Once more: no-kidding, real, in-your-face accountability.

- For all homeless people in the United States, provide them with permanent housing and provide them with free meals as well.

- Give every low-income American 1,000 dollars per month for the rest of their lives

- Free universal healthcare for every legal resident of the United States (US citizens and green card holders)

- Drop the price of gasoline to one dollar in all 50 states of the United States

- Send a Bible to every resident of the United States

I probably have more laws that I want to put into place, but I cannot think right now....

Your example makes a jobless and homeless person have a better quality of life than I do after working for twenty fours to get where I am at.

Place a 100% tax on gasoline, use the proceeds to fund Road and bridge improvement and fund public transport.

Place a 100% tax on firearms and ammunition, use the proceeds to fund law enforcement and emergency medical care.

Place a 100% tax on restaraunt food and drinks, alcohol, soft drinks, and tobacco. Use the proceeds to help fund healthcare for the masses.

Decriminalize all illegal drugs, place a 100% tax on them. Use the proceeds to fund mental health care.

I guess I'm a libertarian.

Along these lines but not mandatory on everyone.
Anyone who does not work 40 hrs. a week and receives government subsidies such as subsidized housing, TANF, etc. should be required to give back for what they receive. Anyone who is capable of working should be doing something, not sitting home living free off other people. I agree that there should be exceptions such as for medical and age. There are many people on disability who could be doing something productive, such as volunteers in libraries, schools, government offices, etc.

1. Fix the VA so that those who have served can get the care they earned.
2. I agree with housing and food for the needy in this country. It's to our eternal shame that they don't have it.
3. Get the Fed. government out of education, and let the states handle it.
4. Bring back the WPA as another source of jobs for those in #2.
Honest work = dignity and self respect.

No, all of this taxation is not a libertarian POV.

Those taxes are cover the costs of the choices people make - they are user fees, a very libertarian concept. Those who contribute to a problem are charged with remedying it. Those who do not contribute to a problem do not. People who opt not to drive don't pay for roads, etc.

I don't know that reviving socialist policies will fix a capitalist system, and I recall old timers complaining of lazy, freeloading WPA workers.

Most people do not have a choice about using roads. Even if they use the bus system, etc. they are benefiting from the roads, bicyclist benefit from the roads, school children on buses benefit from the roads.

Law enforcement and EMS services are not just used by people who own firearms. You want people who use arms to be charged extra for services that all people use when legal gun owners cause very little of the crime in this country. No hunter uses the law enforcement that you are talking about, neither is EMS called for their victims. They already pay extra through the cost of buying a hunting license to pay for the law enforcement officers that they do use.

We have choices and freedom. We can not use roads and highways.

Hunting and legal shooting accidents are not all that uncommon, and iirc over half of the shootings in the US (including accidental shootings and suicide attempts) use legally obtained firearms. Of course, this tax would not pay for all law enforcement and end services, only a fraction. Those that choose not to own firearms would not pay this fee.

1. Strict limitation of every elected official to no more than two terms.
2. Lobbying of our legislative bodies would be illegal and punishable by jail time.
3. An end to Gerrymandering and nation wide balanced redistricting of all congressional districts.
4. An end to lifelong pensions for Representatives and Senators.
5. Strict auditing and accountability for all government spending.

1. Stiffer penalties for violent offenses, more creative penalties for non-violent offenses. Remove punishment for drug users and give treatment. Seek rehabilitation of criminals except in the case of those who score high for psychopathy.

For example, some offenders simply have a high degree of recidivism, and can't seem to be rehabilitated, such as violent rapists and pedophiles. They should get life without parole. Repeat offenders should also go away for life, since obviously they will only repeat their crimes if we release them again.

Non-violent offenses need to get creative. First of all, offenders need to UNDO their crimes as much as possible, and do restitution. So for example, instead of putting a thief in jail, he has to pay the family he stole from back twice the value he stole. We will need to bring back indentured servitude for this--it's really no different than prison labor, except the money made would be larger and go to the victim. We need to use community service more. Someone commits a hate crime? He goes through an education program, and spends time with than community in service and in socialization. Drug offenses should include only those that produce or sell, and the penalties should be huge fines and service in rehab centers. I'm sure you are getting the idea. Make the punishment fit the crime.

Up rehabilitation like crazy. Use counseling. Filter out those high on the psychopathy score and remove them from society.

2. Set policies that support the family.

Remove social assistance penalties for married individuals and their children. Set policies that reward marriage over cohabitation and single parenting. Make relationship and marriage classes mandatory in High Schools with an emphasis on conflict resolution, managing money, and child rearing strategies. Have mandatory adoption counseling available and a waiting period before an abortion can take place.

3. Have a minimum standard of living available to every legal resident regardless of whether they are working or not working, able or disabled, industrious or lazy (they have this in other countries).

This would include basic housing and utilities, food within a healthy diet, and basic clothing, including clothing suitable for work. There should be adequate public transportation such as in the big cities, and if there is not, a used car should be provided. Having work would increase one's lifestyle, giving one's family access to things like entertainment, electronics, travel and vacations, going out to eat, better and more clothing, tastier and more convenient foods, a larger residence in a better neighborhood, private schools, hobby items, owning a home, maids and gardeners, etc. IOW a better quality of life.

4. Taxes and loans geared to support small businesses and small family farms.

5. Break up of Companies that are huge conglomerations, or virtual monopolies, or which have control over large areas (such as cable companies).

Starting money up to a certain amount (not a loan) to family businesses from the government provided that they have a viable business plan.

6. Free college tuition for all.

7. Mandatory public service either during one's high school years if one drops out, or immediately following graduation. This can include participation in the armed services, transportation, etc.

8. Voucher system for school choice, including home schooling.

9. Stricter rules for environmental abuse. Faster movement towards use of alternative forms of energy, and reversing global warming.

10. Support of Scientific research towards desalinization of water, crop production, medical advances, and raw science.

11. Support of freedom of religion, not just freedom of worship.

12. Universal one payer health care for all. This includes excellent mental health care.

13. Media campaign promoting counseling for gender dysphoria, which would ultimately counsel the acceptance of having opposite sex and gender. Rule for bathrooms: use the bathroom that you can pass for. Otherwise, don't.

14. Treat sugars, sugar alcohols, and sugar substitutes like tobacco. Warnings on packages that these foods can cause diabetes, and heart disease, and tax the heck out of it.

15. Subsidize restaurants that serve all their entrees according to FDA guidelines.

16. Reduce class sizes to 20.

17. Get rid of these ridiculous educational standards (we don't need algebra in second grade) and go back to encouraging the basics and creative thought. Bring back vocational training in High School.
