If the Earth is flat, why isn't flat-Earth cartography a multi-billion dollar business?

If the earth is flat then the entire Southern Hemisphere would be larger than the northern and the further south the more spread out. A map based on that geography would be crazy.

Speaking as someone who lives in the Southern Hemisphere, yes. All the distances and directions on a "flat earth map" would be wildly wrong.

That's just FALSE. There are (or were before COVID-19) direct flights between Sydney and Santiago from Qantas (QF 27/28). LATAM Airlines is still running direct flights between those two cities.

The flight time (12 to 13 hours) is, incidentally, one more proof that the Earth is not flat.
