Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Here is the question: Jesus said He would never leave us, Jesus also said that the Holy Spirit (the helper) would dwell in us and be in us.

When would we ever be out of the Presence of God?

God never leaves or forsakes us, we leave Him when we choose self, our will over God's will.

I added the condition that the promise was given. That part was left out for some reason.

John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

When one commits apostasy.

They are not out of the presence of God, a born again child of God can get out of fellowship with God. They can quench The Holy Spirit .
Apostasy is turning completely away. Beyond quenching, it's flat out rejecting. I am not a OSAS advocate.

Once in the family of God as a born again child of God, the child can not leave the family. Even if they no longer believe they are a family member.

Which church, the invisible church made up of born again believers or the visible church made up of believers and unbelievers
We’ll unbeliever would not be in the Presence of Jesus, nor the Holy Spirit.

Have we fallen so far that we do not know who and what the church is?

No an unbeliever is not a member of the church Jesus is building.

But that church can not be seen, like a brick and mortar church. Obviously in the New Testament members were known. But now some 2000 years later the faith has grown and has spread out so. That members of the church Jesus is building enter by belief in Jesus.

So how does a person actually know who has believed and who has not. I know in James it states faith can be shown by works. But Jesus also states he never knew people who prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

So from me, i simply have to take people at their word if they say they have believed in Jesus for Eternal Life salvation. I believe them, i do not look at their actions as they may have strayed from the faith.

So Jesus' church He is building will be actually known one day and will be visible.

Sometimes there can be a block to the presence of God in our lives because we are holding on to some kind of sin or offense. Reconnecting with God lies on the other side of repenting for the sin and/or forgiving the person with whom we're upset. Keeping a clean heart before God is critical in life.

I've thought about this for many years! Yeah I get it one can sin and need to be restored to get rid of a guilt sin consciousness. But for many Christians they have so engrained within them a concept like the song, "Come Holy Spirit I need you" that they actually think the Spirit is coming and going. Or we hear this "Reach out and touch the Lord as he's passing by" Now in the gospels that was true, Jesus physically went from place to place but folks he's not passing by ANYMORE. He said he'd never leave us or forsake us in the Spirit he indwells us.

Now in Heb 13:6 we read he states, He'll never leave us or forsake us for a certain reason....and this is it....."The we may boldly say the Lord is our helper" We can understand this is why we would be bold.....GOD the creator of all is right with me! He's in me. By saying it and declaring it our courage can rise to new heights. Without thinking and declaring this you'll always think of God as a million miles away and that he's indifferent on the other side of the universe. That's a crying shame! That's not the way God wants us to think about it and yet...we do.

Rom 11:
17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; 21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. 22 See then the kindness and severity of God: to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; for otherwise you too will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again

Not everyone who claims miracles are false, there are plenty of true servants of God, just in the little church i go, a small gathering there are people healed of cancer, the presence of God can be felt, God has told things that are going to happen and they did happen, etc.
In the other church i went, they did not undestand me too well, but God was there too, there is plenty of ex drug addicts and alcoholics who were healed.

God is ubiquitous, thus God is always present. The sense that God is not present is part of the human condition and not the result of God's absence.

Jesus's promise that he would never leave us is fact, but our awareness of that fact depends on whether we abide in him or not.

When would we ever be out of the Presence of God?

In Eastern Orthodoxy we believe in divine omnipresence, which is made fairly clear in the Scriptures.

Indeed we take this belief to such an extent that the Usual Beginning of the Hours includes the prayer “O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things, Treasury of good things, and Giver of life: come and abide in us, and cleanse us from every sin, and save our souls, O Good One”, which interestingly enough is addresses to the Holy Spirit.
