  1. Besides aligning Himself with Sin,* there are a couple of other things that He cannot do. He cannot lie, nor can He break His promises. (He has participated in various acts of deception, but those involved withholding information, not actively lying. He has no obligation in the former.)
  2. He CAN temporarily shield the other person from the effects of His Glory (and has), but Sin cannot stand in His unshielded Presence.
See Exodus 33:18-23.

*He can't turn off (nor even turn down) His Holiness.

that he can't allow sin in his presence:

1) That seems to mean that he is not omnipotent, that he is constrained by something that prevents him from doing so, and

2) How do you account for Satan (the epitome of evil) being allowed in his presence in the book of Job?

1) Christian logic
2) all other logic on all other topics combined

Option 1) represents a cognitive dissonance, when compared to option 2)

I would agree that statement, but is because He is omnipotent, and by Christ there is a way... He is only constrained by justice in either case...

God's Omniscience with Omni-benevolence is how I account for Satan in general....

God Bless!

Is it really that important to you to attempt to make the bible look bad? Do you really think no matter what you think you have come up with that it's going to affect our faith one bit?

And of course you will then say, that is not your purpose so please...what is your purpose?

And no, it's not just you but you got me to thinking about why this happens so often around here. let's make it an open question.

1. He promised that the throne of David would last forever. It was snuffed out by the Babylonians, and modern Israel has no throne.

2. How many hitpoints does this temporary shield have?

1. Sin can be in his presence, but he/it cannot be affected by sin.

2. We must remember that Job was written during a time when the Jews were still henotheistic/monolatrists. Satan in the story is not the evil powerful entity of later Christian thought, but one of God's divine agents in his council.

I do not find in scripture God not having the Love and power to allow sin in his presence, Jesus certainly did.

Job was on earth. Earth is influenced by Satan before the final judgment. That's the way how human freewill is exercised by humans such that a final judgment will follow.

The big picture is you have only 2 sides of a world, that is, living in the same realm with God or not. If not, anything could happen. God only choose to maintain what lying inside His realm. Earth is actually lying outside God's realm ever since the fall of Adam after he's kicked out of Eden. On the other hand since God has an unfinished job here that earth is more like a "middle ground". You and everyone still have a choice to choose between God and no God.

Satan and all fallen angels were cast into the Earth area (in another facet we call Hades). They can still cast influence to this world (which lying outside God's realm). That's how Satan keeps everyone captive. Satan is more a magnet with a pole, it attracts the bad ones toward him but for God to choose the best to save. It's like you are asked to separate a pool of iron and zinc beads. A magnet saves you tons of work.
