Just a reminder of the rules

Please try to post without flaming each other; rehashing complains; and keep in mind that in this forum we are not allowing any bashing of any camp! Opinions are to be substantiated respectfully by all!

Some tips for posting in this forum
When you Disagree:

Members who participate in the Soteriology forum are expected to treat one another with courtesy and respect at all times, ESPECIALLY when you disagree with each other.
  • When you disagree, address the context of the post and not the poster.
  • When you disagree with someone's position, you should post evidence and supporting statements for your position. This policy, sometimes referred to as "X means Y because of Z", must be followed especially when posting claims that are widely considered to be controversial.
  • When you disagree and you find yourself becoming frustrated and angry, step away from the computer and give yourself time to cool down.
  • Always proofread your post before hitting the "Reply" button to make sure you have responded with courtesy and respect.
Thanks folks

Repentance comes from a prior change of a sinful heart , sin is the main obstacle because it is pleasurable , so Grace (not common sense) MUST precede the act of repentance , such so that it is in God's hand alone that men repent ;

2 Timothy:
“And the Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will” (2:24-26).

common sense cannot bring about self denial , we are saved by Grace or not at all.

MOD HAT ON

Posts discussing staff action have been removed per the CF rule on disruptive behavior:

Disruptive Behavior, Campaigning, Staff Disciplinary Action
Do not disrupt the peace and harmony of the site by rehashing alleged grievances or disputes, publicly complaining about posts or threads, or ranting about Christian Forums or its staff. Do not attempt to undermine these rules or policies via campaigns, petitions, or protests. Do not discuss staff or reported actions publicly. Use the Member Services Center to submit questions and complaints about staff disciplinary action or rules.

Posts innocently responding to a removed post have also been removed, since they wouldn't make any sense standing there on their own.

Please continue discussing the original topic, without further breach of the rules. Otherwise, this thread will be closed permanently.

Well, you guys can argue all you want, but in Greek class, I did learn one thing:

"Ἔχετε πίστιν θεοῦ" -Mk. 11:22 (GNT)

"Have faith in God" -Mk. 11:22 (KJV)

Actually, "πίστιν" should be rendered "the faith".

And, "θεοῦ" is in the Genetive case, so it should properly be rendered "of God".

So Mark 11:22 should read, "Have the faith of God".

Jesus here is commanding us to have the same faith as God.

Now who here does?

And who here could unless it were given to them?

God Bless

Till all are one.

..... What I can't fathom is going to a playground with a bunch of kids who are ALL a bunch of murderors, liars, thiefs, adulterors, idolaters, fornicators, horrendous sinners, and giving them anything good at all - let alone grace.

And Calvin

"some are preordained to eternal life, others to eternal damnation; and accordingly, as each has been created for one or the other of those ends, we say that he has been predestined to life or death.”

Or Luther

"Even children, dying un baptized, are lost."

Unless predestined before the foundation of the earth.
And who here could unless it were given to them?
