Thanks for those posts! They brought me back. We had cabbage patch kids and Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I remember the ORIGINAL My Little Pony and Care Bears. We had records with books too.

Yes. The '80s had a lot of neat stuff.

Oh... and Cracker Jacks actually had GOOD toy surprises on the inside!

Another thing that's crossed my mind in recent years is how the "oldies" radio stations back in the '80s played the music of the '40s, '50s, and '60s, and how we are facing that today with the music we grew up on. In fact, a radio station in my area plays '70s and '80s pop/rock music (with some late '60s in the mix) and labels it "Classic Rock"!

While nostalgic in many ways, it sometimes serves as a reminder that we aren't getting any younger!

And who could forget:

That was one of my favorite records (and games) as a kid; still enjoy it to this day!

My family and I had an Atari when I was a kid. I remember we had Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and Asteroids. I am sure we had other Atari games, but these games are what I remember the most. I liked Ms. Pac-Man the best.

Did anyone else here have a Rubik's Cube growing up too?

Those were surely the days, right?

I actually had a Rubik's cube... messed with it a few times, but never could figure the thing out.
I've given up the Rubik's cube eons ago. Just change the stickers around and it's all good! :D

Bought the Happy Days seasons 1-6. Kids have never seen them. They will this summer!

What a fun-filled show! I haven't seen that for a while. I'm very sure your kiddos will love it. :grinning:

Somebody say "Ayyyyyyy!"

Who remembers this "little lady"?

mattel_bye_diapers1972.jpg

I believe this was the "queen" of the so-called drink-and-wet dolls. I had this one, and she was a favorite. You had to fill the little bottle with water, feed the doll, then put her on her toilet, then pull the string in back as the doll pees and claps with pride!

One of the greatest toys ever to sit on a store shelf, IMO!

I don't think I had that particular doll but my sisters and I had something similar. Anything that drinks and pees and makes a mess makes it all worthwhile and prepares us (almost) to be such good moms with the real thing later on! ;)

Press Your Luck was one of my favorites when I was young.

"Big, bucks... big money... no whammies... STOP!"
"Stop on a WHAMMY!!!!"

And I recall also that, if any player got four of them before the program was over, he/she was out of the game.

These old-school game shows were just good clean fun!
