Woman in Seattle trial reports no major side effects but still wears a mask to be sure

The first person in the US to receive an experimental vaccine for COVID-19 has provided a medical update, and it's encouraging. "It's been 16 weeks since I had the first dose," Jennifer Haller says. "I feel fantastic." The Washington state woman, an operations manager for a tech startup, has experienced no major side effects, KOMO reports.

Did she get the placebo or the real thing?

The real thing. This is an "antibody formation" test, so a placebo wouldn't show anything. There would have been similar tests for safety involving only the vaccine.

I saw interviews with two men who are also volunteers, one in this same trial and one in a trial with a different company. They said there are five trials going on right now in the US. If you goggle coVid-19 trials you'll find them.
