The Name Of The Lord Personified in Christ
Psalm 86:15
But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious,
Long-suffering and abundant in mercy and truth.

Peter's Denial, And The Lord's Restoration
Luke 22:
31
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you,
that he may sift you as wheat.

32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you
have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.

33 But he said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.
34 Then He said, I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will
deny three times that you know Me.
The Lord demonstrates the Love of the Father, while at the same time
positioning leaders to have a greater understanding of mercy.

When the Lord restores Peter in John 21, He presses him to confess his love for
the Lord three times for each denial, and then responds: "feed my sheep".
What do Spirit-led leaders feed the flock:

Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will
feed you with knowledge and understanding.

The same pattern is repeated in Paul's testimony
1 Timothy 1:
12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful,
putting me into the ministry,
13 although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man;
but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
14
And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love
which are in Christ Jesus.
15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came
into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might
show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him
for everlasting life.
