I AM BLESSED

As believers we need to not trust in the economy of man:
· We need to stay focused on God, and learn how to operate in His economy.
· By operating in Gods economy we succeed when the world around us is falling apart.

Gal 3:13
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),

Has redeemed:
· Has and redeemed- both are past tense so it is something that has already been done.

Exagorazo (Greek for has redeemed)
· To buy up, ransom; to rescue from loss (improve opportunity):
· To atone for, to free, to make good (a promise) by performing, to convert into something of value.

So by definition Christ Has:
· Ransomed you from the curse of the law (paid a price)
· Rescued you from the loss you had from the law and He improved your opportunity.

He wants you blessed more than you want to be blessed!

Christ has:
· Made an atonement, to free us,
· To make good all the promises of God, and to convert us to something of value!!!
Now that’s Good! Or that’s God!

18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: 21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. 22 Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.

23 Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures. 24 The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan. 25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. 26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

Some trust in horses and some trust in chariots but they that trust in the Lord will not be put to shame.

The bible says He took away the curse and He became the curse for us.
· He took away our doom and destruction,
· And He carried with Him on the cross at Calvary!

He did this and improved our opportunity

So what opportunity did Christ improve?

Verse 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

This is a very important scripture when talking about blessing:
BECAUSE:
Blessing in this verse literally means:
· A benefit bestowed.
· To invoke divine care for—God want to invoke divine care for you!

The opportunity God is giving us is:
· The blessing of Abraham—the divine care he had.

Notice it says--“might come upon”

Might—May, ought, should or can.

Why did it not say SHALL or WILL?
· Because it’s provisional not guaranteed.

Anything that is a guarantee has no strings attached:
· God’s love for us has no strings attached.
· Sinner or saint—He loves us all without any conditions.

Rom 5:8 says in the Amplified:
But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

In this verse you have both guarantee and provisional:
· God loving you is a guarantee,
· You not perishing is provisional.

No matter how much God loves you:
· You can’t have everlasting life without believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus.

Believing brings you to righteousness,
Confession is made unto salvation.

So God loves you so much He made a way of escape for you.
· But you have to believe and you have to speak!

So you can see then:
· The blessing of Abraham might come upon you is provisional.

God wants you blessed more than you want to be blessed,
God provided the blessing of Abraham to come upon you,
God sealed the deal with the death of His Son on the Cross.

Think about what He said in Gal 3:
· He became a curse for you so the blessings of Abraham might come upon you.
· It was no guarantee that you would take the deal,
· With no guarantee on your part—Jesus did it anyway.

Gen 12:1-7 says:
1 Now the LORD had said to Abram:” Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing .
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
4 So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.
6 Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, as far as the terebinth tree of Moreh. And the Canaanites were then in the land.
7 Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." And there he built an altar to the LORD, who had appeared to him.

Ok let’s take it from the top and break it down:

Verse 1 Now the LORD had said to Abram:

1. The first thing I see is God was speaking to Abram.
a) God was speaking and he was listening.
b) And that is amazing in itself—we are usually doing all the talking.

2. The second thing I see is its Abram not Abraham.
a) Abram—father of a nation:
b) Abraham—father of many nations.

1 Now the LORD had said to Abram
"Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.

The next thing is see is he had to get out:
· You can’t do the same thing and get different results.
· You’ve got to do what God tells you to do.

He said to get away from his family and where he knew:
· You’ve got to get out of your comfort zone,
· You’ve got to get away from people that are not believing and speaking the way you want to believe and speak.

Even your own family can be a huge hindrance to your faith.
· You have to guard your heart,
· Watch what you say—and the conversations you get into.

Why did God tell Abram to Go?
Gen 11:31-32 says:
31 And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there.
32 So the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, and Terah died in Haran.

It was Terah Abrams father that was supposed to go to the Land of Canaan:
· He only went half way—Haran is ½ way between Ur and Canaan.

Don’t go only half way and leave what you were supposed to do for someone else.

Abram went because:
· The assignment that was given to his father had to be completed,
· And then built upon.

Verse 2 (Gen. 12)
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
· Out of this one man the nation of Israel was born.
· Jesus the Messiah came out of that same nation.
His name became great:
· Abraham is considered the father of faith, for all believers.

You shall be a blessing the word says:
· Blessed to be a blessing.

We are all supposed to be blessed to be a blessing:
· If you are not blessed you can’t bless.
· That is talking about every area in life.

If you are not full of Joy—you can’t give joy.
If you are not full of peace—you can’t give peace.

YOU CAN’T GIVE WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE.

Verse 3
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

Those who bless Abram and His decedents (Israel) will be blessed:
· The reason why the America is blessed today is because we have always defended Israel.

I will bless those who bless you:
· This is a very basic principle—you reap what you sow.
· Seed time, harvest time.

Verse 4
4 So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.

Abraham departed:
· He was not just a hearer of the word but he was a doer,

His Nephew Lot went with him!

That tells me this:
· When you get a Word from the Lord,
· It gives you vision,
· When you start walking out your vision,
· People want to be around you—to help with the vision!

God has been sparking vision in the hearts of those who are listening:
· Those who listen Go to Canaan,
· Those who don’t stay in Haran.

JESUS IS COMING BACK:
· We are blessed to be a blessing!
