I decided to become an economic liberal in high school, before I knew anything about abortion and sexual orientation. This was in 1995, when the idea of legalizing marijuana was unthinkable and nobody thought equality should include homosexual marriages. But now it is clear my political views align with what Jesus taught the people in Israel.

Next time an American tells you socialism is unpatriotic tell them this:

There are no socialists here, only moderates, liberals, and progressives. Jesus would be a progressive.

Anyone into progressive economics will inevitably hold some or many socialist economic values, the values that early Christian communities seemed to live by judging by the stories in the Bible.
