I read a question and answer article involved in the topic of mark of the beast. It had good information dealing with the beast and his mark. It stated, which I believe to be correct, that the beast will be a very powerful, charismatic, wealthy and influential figure who will deceive people into believing he is God. He will cause nearly everyone to receive a mark on their hand or forehead (it will be required by law to do so), and without it one cannot work, buy or sell, or basically do anything. However, if the mark is accepted those people will receive the full wrath of God.

If this should happen in my lifetime I will in no way receive the mark. So how will those of us who reject the mark make it?

We will pretty much have to either starve to death or be beheaded for refusing to take the mark and worship the beast.

The punishment from God is very severe for those who take the mark :

Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He Shall Be Tormented With Fire and Brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Most of those who accept the Mark will be those waiting for a pre-trib rapture.

And is it such a horrible fate to die for Christ during this time?

    Biological adaptations/mutations.

Stop feeding on the worldly garbage now if you wish to have it. This includes "watered-down" Gospel, Worldly Christianity, false doctrines/dogmas. Unsubscribe to those. You are what you feed your soul.

No, it is not a horrible fate. While there are many people knowledgeable about the Mark, there are those who are not. Several years ago my father had a caregiver coming to our home to take care of him. She and I got on the subject of the Mark, whereby she told me she had never heard of it. So I went into great detail about what the Mark is about and stated the importance of NOT receiving it. I can only hope the information I gave remains with her to this day.

Of course, there's not that much Biblical data about it.

I wouldn't worry. The Rapture will happen first, so you and I won't be here for it.

It would be very difficult in today's Western suburban world to survive a scenario like this.

Some cultures which survive at a subsistence level even today might slip through the radar.

A few might be able to hide with sympathetic non-Christians who would feed them (however their buying patterns would give rise to suspicion that they were covering for someone eg. buying extra food, clothing etc.).

For example someone called Jack might be sheltering an asthmatic Christian friend but the computerised system would pick up that -

"5th June 2019 - 9.13 am Subject purchased asthma puffer from Browns Chemist.

6th June 2019 - 7.30pm Subject purchased four TV meals from late night store before going home.

Analysis - subject's buying patterns suggest he is buying more food than he needs. Subject is not known to have asthma or other allergies.

Recommendation - subject's home to be monitored."

I've got a booklet at home published by the "Commission for the Future" which was set up by the Australian Hawke government way back in the 1980's. They published a number of booklets, but this is the only one I've got. It's subtitled "Towards a Cashless Future", and it was chaired by Philip Adams, who is an Australian atheist, albeit with his heart in the right place in most ways. So it's hardly a religious publication.

At one point an example like the above was given, but in more detail. They also pointed out that as far back as 1975 a think tank of American lawyers opined that the easiest way for a government to keep a close eye on it's citizens would be electronic commerce, or if you like, a cashless society. They'd know what you buy, when you bought it, where you bought it, and whether it was consistent with your normal individual buying patterns.

I'm probably an oddity as a Catholic who believes there's something in the "Mark of the Beast", even though the technology already exists for it to take place. The only thing lacking at the moment is an appropriate political trigger eg. a very powerful terrorist attack, or a nuclear war, or some other crisis.

I don't believe in the Rapture, and those of us who might have to suffer through the rule of the "anti-Christ" will have to do just that. There won't be any magic carpet from heaven reaching down and just pulling us out because it's difficult. God didn't pull out the believers from the Black Death, the Mongol hordes, the Vikings, or two World Wars, and He won't pull us out of this one either.

The warning isn't there for nothing. There's a hint in the Catholic Catechism of this "final trial" -

Many years ago I saw a film that was circulating around Churches called Mark of the Beast. It showed a line of people, and at the head of the line were soldier-type figures in uniform. Each person was asked if they would reject God and receive the Mark. If they said yes and took the Mark they were allowed to re-enter society and go on with their life. But if they said no and rejected the Mark there was a guillotine nearby where they were taken and were beheaded. There was one family who somehow faked the Mark for a while and lived, but eventually were found out and killed.

Well Debbie, the beast is not a "will be" entity, it is a past, present and future entity. A lot of people focus on the mark of the beast and do not do deep study into the proper identification of the beast which the early reformers including the founder of the baptist church did.

Yes, you are right Prophecykid. The focus should not be just on the Mark itself but also at the beast, of which when you say "past, present and future" you must be referring to evil individuals in the past, in the here and now and those who are to be in the future. It's interesting you say the identification of the beast. It could be possible this beast, yes evil, is not what people think but is a forced rule upon the earth. Yes, a conglomeration of evil forces coming together to force political rule over the earth, with one central head.

Are you sure you won't take the mark?

If Jesus comes back doing miracles and tells you to join Islam, then why not? Muslims and Christians pray to the same god, right? You're not taking THE mark. You're merely taking on the name of Allah with two crossed swords underneath? It doesn't say 666. What's the big deal?

By preparing a place for themselves to survive up to 4 years away from society, like in the forest or mountains.

Yes I am certain I won't take the mark. Anyone who does will be condemned to hell. No where in the Christian Bible is the name Allah used, therefore why should I believe Christians and Muslims pray to the same God? Why would Jesus tell me to join Islam when He was not a Muslim? The mark is not limited to being the number 666, but it can be also the name of the beast, or a mark of which the Bible does not specifically describe. The Holy Spirit will guide my actions when the time comes. Satan will disguise himself as God to lead all that he can into hell, but a person who knows Jesus as Savior will not be lead astray. You asked "what's the big deal"? An eternity in hell or eternity in Heaven.

As long as you open yourself to the truth and allow the holy spirit to guide you, you will not accept the mark of the beast. Even if you do not know what it is exactly, it will be revealed and you will know it.

Personally I won't do anything Jesus tells me to do. That's the safest route in the end times.

Allah is Arabic for god. Many Christians think Muslims pray to the same god. Modern liberals think we all pray to the same god even if they have different names.

The Jesus that returns will be doing miracles. He will claim that Christianity has been corrupted and everyone should join Islam. Jesus himself will now be Muslim.

The mark is not going to say 666. However, Allah's name in Arabic with two crossed swords underneath is (in Greek numbers) 600, 60 and 6. Most people don't know that.

Jesus is accompanying the Islamic Mahdi and together they convert the world to Islam. Or you get to die. This is foretold in Islamic prophecy. A few years later the real Jesus arrives.

You can see how weaker Christians will be fooled by this Jesus. Are they the foolish virgins?
