Hello! I wrote an essay on the Ancient Faith blog on how the Orthodox Church, which generally shares the Traditions of the Catholic Church before the schism in the 11th century, views the Charismatic movement.

I am pleased to share it with you and happy to hear your thoughts:

The essay focuses on four major trends with find in the Charismatic movement: End Times thinking, glossolalia or speaking unknown "tongues", elements of informal worship, and claims of frequent miracles, gifts, and visions. These elements have each tended to have disappeared by the time of the modern mainstream Orthodox and Catholic Churches in the modern era, except for the Charismatic Catholic Renewal in the mid-20th century until today.

This paper evaluates how the Orthodox Church sees those elements in early Christianity to better understand how it views the Charismatic movement today.
